Phoned up today as my sky ceased this morning and by about midday my son, 3, was driving me mad as he couldn't watch his programmes. Managed to get 60% off for 12 months, no contract and £50 credit. Very happy!Apr - Makitia DAB Radio

Had Sky family + sports for 50% discount for last 12 months.
Was offered 25% off for 10 months, then offer was 35% discount for 5 years but it was still too much for us.
Gave 30 days notice to cancel.
Half an hour later was offered 50% off any bundle + sports & movies for 12 months.0 -
Today I went on sky online chat to the disconnection team and told them I wanted to save some money. They promptly called me on the phone and offered me a discount and after a few minutes of playful haggling he went off to speak to his manager, then offered me £12.50 a month discount I did have to sign up for another 12 months but had no intentions of leaving anyway0

Morning all.
I had an offer for free BB from Sky which I decided to take up and at the same time cancelled my Sky TV package as I was at the end of my contract.
Three weeks have passed and no TV offers of any sort. When I cancelled the guy didn't seem interested in retaining my custom. Been with them for over 15 years, but no great loss.0 -
For existing customers, Vodafone fibre is the same cost as sky but with cheaper line rental, inclusive weekend and evening calls and netflix which is a handy bargaining chip..

Any advice welcome, just rang virgin, our deal had come to an end, 200mb, xl tv, basic phone and additional v box, Paid £45 for it. Been a customer for over 10 years, but some crafty person changed me to a new contract when i moved house 18 month ago.
They are claiming that the best they can offer for the same package is £66 pounds a month plus £4 loyalty discount.
As internet speed isn't a biggy and neither is bt sport , i asked the cost of freeview 50mb and phone £45 they say, the same price i was paying previous.
I asked them to disconnect me as i can move to sky and pretty much keep the same package for the same money to be told, if you cancel sir the cancelation is £141.
Have they got me my the short and curlys here?0 -

That's standard for Virgin. A house move begins a new contract. However I would have expected that to be coming to an end now as contracts are normally 18 months.Have they got me my the short and curlys here?
Whilst still under contract you have no leverage I'm afraid.
When does your contract actually end?0 -
well, they say my contacts up in May, i moved into rented march 2014 then bought a house on the same street in November 2014. i guess they are telling me that the 18 month started again when i moved five doors down again in november.0
