  • Well I cancelled my contract yesterday after 10 years as they only offered me a £20 discount for 10 months (usual bill is £78 a year), my cut off date is the 6th December.

What are the chances of them calling me back offering me a better discount? Do not want to cancel as I need the broadband for work so hoping I do not have to call them with tail between my legs asking them to reverse the cancellation.

I do have an early termination fee for around £45 to pay as I still had one month left of my fibre and 2 months on multi-room...

This is the first time I have called their bluff and put the cancellation in as usually they offer me a reasonable discount

How can you pay £78 per year and then say you have an early termination fee of £45 to pay as you still have one month left for fibre and 2 months on multi-room ?

Perhaps they mean per month ?
  • Yes, meant per month - typo error - late on a friday afternoon!!!

  • I'm really naffed off with my renewal. Not only was I misled about the period of the deal, I now see from my online account that the price I was quoted is wrong too by £14 a month. I took full notes of the conversation and clarified everything and I have the full ID number of the person I spoke to.

I'm waiting for Sky to confirm that they have listened to the call.

Does anyone know if all Sky calls are recorded? The operator told me that all calls were recorded.

    Be very cautious.....

They are all meant to be. An email to the CEO might be more fruitful - usually dealt with by their executive team.

Thanks I'll have a Google for a CEO email, it was usually effective for BT

  • hi guys im back on here as its been another 12 months since i got my half price sky deal after cancelling, just done the 30 days notice online in chat and was wondering whats the best offer i can hope for if i hold out, im actually willing to finish it as im using a stream box anyway but would like to keep sky if its cheap enough.
i have the full tv package with hd channels and multi room, i have found though whenever they give me 12 months half price after a month or so sky seems to up the contract price like theyre allowed too so its not an absolute bargain, at the moment ive been paying £52 for the above package with no internet phone etc.
  • My Dads Virgin Media package contract up in the New Year.
    He currently has...

50mb broadband, M+ tv (130+ channels) and XL phone.

For that he pays £35 a month (having already paid the Line Rental saver up front - that runs out at the same time that contract is up)

Because we never know what to get him for Christmas or Birthday (February) me and my sister always pay for his Sky Sports and Movies . Oct - Dec for Christmas & Jan - Mar for Birthday and then turn them back off in April as once weather is nicer he is out and about.

Has anyone on similar package had much luck getting either reduction or better package or am I at the top end of what I can expect for the price ?

My next, after that (but including £50 credit) was that they were sorry I was giving up tv, so were offering free broadband and Sky+, if I paid for full price line rental.
