Sky must set it to auto no marketing because I know I didn't set mine to none.

In my experience it's usually the opposite.
Do sky ring on the house phone with an offer or the mobile on the account as I don;t use the house phone. Thanks

They tend to ring whatever number you have associated with the account in your contact details.

You may also find an offer on MySky main page.

    Also by email, now.
  • I called tonight and said it was getting too costly so I would need to cancel, been with them 8 years. I was offered nothing, simply given a cancellation date.

With Sky do people tend to get the better offers over the phone or via live chat?

That's better than being offered a rubbish deal like some people do and taking it.

Log into mysky, you'll probably have an offer waiting for you already. Or speak to winback team on live chat and look forward to circa 50/60% off.

Sorry guys I know there is a thread for haggling etc but it all seems to relate to sky. I have been with Virgin for over 10 years, got pretty much the full phone tv and broadband package but no movies and only basic broadband which I am happy with.

Costs now over £100 and been offered similar with sky for around £60.

I've set a cancellation date for end November - should I expect a call from VM and what kind of deal should I be expecting as an example?

You may get nothing at all or an offer. When I left VM about three years ago after 10 years with NTL then VM, I was offered, nothing. Now I get regular monthly letters offering me nothing better than the prices on their website. Others seen to have got better offers, but as I say I got nothing.
  • We cancelled via phone and were offered 50% off 10 month with 12 month contract straightaway and declined. After hanging up the call 50% off for 12 months appeared on sky account. 2 weeks on we had 50% off Plus £50 credit letter thru post. Then calls offering same. Declined them too. Sky went off yesterday and today in sky account had offer of 60% off plus £100 credit. Went on live chat and took it with no minimum term contract.

We were on the same deal last year and that just expired. Just the variety pack too.

Wait it out. The deal will come!

Don't know if it's just me but I tend to find you get better offers on live chat. I've always been given the 50% off TV when I've gone on live chat.

Just renewed my offer on live chat. got 50% off TV for 10 months - granted I'm locked into a 12 month contract but I'll cross that bridge at the 10 month point. Also got free broadband for 12 months and line rental for £13 per month, for 10 months.

Mind you, I did have to go onto live chat 3 times until I got the lower line rental offer - so be prepared to be persistent.

Standard offer at the moment on the phone is 50% off for 10 months with a 12 month contract.

What do you think will happen when you come to month 10 when you have no leverage to cancel?

Surely much better to actually cancel and get at least 50% off for the full 12 months usually with no contract tie in?
