I got offered £50 and 60% off on any package including original. Took that offer and in my sky there was an offer of a free upgrade to Family.
Took that offer and net result was a 100% discount on TV and also a £50 credit.
That wasn't what you said in an earlier post - did it change?I took up Sky on an offer for 12 months on the "original package" at £8 per month.
I went into my offers yesterday and it said upgrade to family pack for free. So I click on it and it said monthly cost for TV minus £8 (I'm currently paing £8 per month for original). - I thought great, they're going to give me Sky Family free for a year.
Then I click order and they've put my TV pack up to £14.40 per month.0 -

Yes but I was trying to work out how that was 100% discount on TV.0 -
Called Sky and cancelled last weekend (I have phone, broadband, TV), haven't received any calls or emails offering discounts as yet - is this the norm - will i receive any and should I hold out?A home is not a home ..... without a dog0

Depends on your marketing preferences. Have you set them to allow you to be contacted with offers etc?
Is this the first time you've done this?will i receive any and should I hold out?
No guarantees but usually you are contacted. However in some cases it's after switch off. You would have been better just cancelling the TV part and then waiting on an offer. Once you got a TV offer you could then have negotiated the BB/LR as it's more difficult to just switch back on.
However now you have done it you either have to wait it out or cancel the cancellation. If you cancel the cancellation Sky have called your bluff and you never will have offers.0 -

£14.40 less £4.17 (12th of £50) is not free tv.
But they read the -£8 part, as cancelling the £8 cost, but, in fact, it is Sky's way of refunding on money paid in advance or changing the listing on next month's bill, so a +£14.40 will appear.0 -

I'm actually getting it free and retaining the £50 credit. I think it was a mess up on their part.
They're applying a manual £14.40 credit to my account each month to cover the charge for Family.
My monthly bill looks a bit like this:
Sky Fibre Unlimited £20.00
Broadband Subscription Discounted- £12.50
Total £7.50
Sky Talk Line Rental £17.40
Sky Talk Line Rental Discounted- £10.00
Total £7.40
Family£36.00
Viewing Subscription Discounted- £21.60
Total £14.40
Credit Adjustment - £14.40 15 Oct
So each month (for a year) they are applying manual credit adjustment on my account the amount of £14.40 meaning my TV package costs £0 per month.
I still retained the £50 one off resign account credit and the £40 account credit for by broadband/line resign.0 -

...My God,I bet that Sky CSA has been sacked smartish !! Working it out, it's the equivalent of £7.40 pm for all that :T
I thought I'd got good deals from Sky and Plusnet -but that is MEGA0 -
My 18 month sky talk contract comes to an end next week, so I called them last night to discuss my options.
They offered me the following:
£8 off my TV package for 10 months on a 12 month contract
£10 off Fibre unlimited broadband for 10 months on a 12 month contract
£4 off line rental for 10 months on a 12 month contract
That's a £22 per month saving for the next 10 months for the price of 10 minutes of my time on the phone...
Very happy :-)PPI Successes: Barclaycard £62,982.17, Halifax One Credit Card £4,616.440 -
We only have tv. I gave notice just over a month ago after a year of 50% discount (we haven't paid full price for about 8 years!). We have the old white sky plus box from about 4 or 5 years ago and I was keen to upgrade to a new HD box but was advised 2 weeks ago that there was no chance of this. We are now 5 days with no sky so signed in today and latest offer is 60% off for 12 months plus £100 credit - very nice! Used live chat and again asked for a new HD box and they said yes plus free fitting. That will do for me.0
