Received an email today, referring to Sky TV package, offering 50% discount for 12 months, plus £50 credit on account.

Haven't taken the offer, will update if anything better is forthcoming.

I wonder if that's because you have more than tv with them?

I should have made it clear in my post that I was talking about Sky tv ONLY and not phone/bb etc. I've gone back and edited my post to make it clear .:)

I was replying to someone who said there would be offers on My Sky, but I and others on here, didn't get offers there. However, last year and this, I have negotiated excellent offers. This year is actually cheaper, even including price rises.

Last year Variety, line, broadband and Anytime calls £26.50 (never went up by the expected £1, so should have been £27.50)

This year, Original, line, broadband and Anytime Extra calls £22.53 after £50 credit (after the two price increases). The tv package is £5 cheaper, but I'm gaining calls to mobiles.

I am out of contract with sky and have given them 30 days notice for my phone and broadband,

What will you do if they actually switch off your LR and BB? You will then face the hassle of getting a new supplier to take over and the time without any services. If you want to leave you should sign up with a new provider and let them transfer your services.
I have basic Sky tv package as well which I am not looking to cancel.

    Cheers

You're going about it the wrong way. If you're out of contract with the TV, then cancel the TV part only and wait for an offer. That offer is likely to be 50% off your TV package. Once you get that you can then negotiate the BB/LR as well.

Or don't you want 50% off your TV?

I am just at the end of my one year introductory deal with Virgin Media, I am due a hike in price - what are my options?
  • I am currently in my cancellation period and sky called was offered 50% off for 10 months, no tie in and £50 credit. Still holding out for more having read some of the other posts.

does anyone have a phone number for sky retention please, that isn't a 08442 number? Don't have sky phone, so don't want to be charged to phone them to sort out a mess skychat have made on my account. Thanks

Sky don't have a publicised freephone number as far as I know. Any that appear seem to disappear just as quickly.

There are 03 numbers on their website. These cost the same as 01 and 02 numbers. I don't believe any of Sky's numbers are now 08 numbers.

How much the offer improves will depend on the size of your package.

My tv is only Original, so I wouldn't expect the 60% off with £100 credit that some have been offered or Sky would be paying me to take their service.

I got offered £50 and 60% off on any package including original. Took that offer and in my sky there was an offer of a free upgrade to Family.

Took that offer and net result was a 100% discount on TV and also a £50 credit.
