I have quite a good offer, but am reeling after over an hour on the phone, because the Scottish call centre person messed up. (I don't get any luck with Scottish call centres , but love the Derby one ).

I had free line rental, £7.50 broadband and £5 Anytime calls, with half price Variety tv on cancellation for £26.50 /month.

The Scottish person offered me a 10 month offer, which she seemed amazed that I refused, then 12 months for free broadband,£9.99 line (to go up to £10.99) and £8 calls, if I would reinstate tv,so I said I would consider tha

I told her I'd like to change from Variety to Original,so she quoted 50% off £21.50 (wrong price) then couldn't add up £8 and £9.99 (getting £18.99).

I then asked about the 50% plus £50 credit offer I had (she said she couldn't do it) and looked online for the email. Luckily, while I was looking a confirmation email, saying I'd accepted all the offers came through and I was able to say, during the call, that I had offered to consider and had not accepted.

I then called back and got another call centre, where the young man said my account was messed up as she had entered free broadband only, the email said the services all ran from today and she had not entered any details of the offer (the email just giving dates and term length).

Via manager and a transfer to the Derby centre, they found me a young lady who had the 50% +£50 offer available.

All for 12 months on a 12 month contract :

    Free broadband
Line rental £9.99 then £10.99 from December 1st
Anytime £5 then £8 for Extra after December 1st (other person was going to charge immediately)
    Original tv £10
    £50 credit.

So it will eventually be £28.99/month, reduced to £24.82, by the credit. Not bad as this included the line increase and calls to mobiles.

The only trivial downside is that I have to keep Variety for 31 more days then move to Original (so less than £5 extra, as I still have 8 days before cut off was due).

My head's in a spin just reading that, not surprised you're reeling!

Sounds like you have a good deal on your phone and b/band too. I'm with BT until next spring and they are extortionate.

What's the Original tv package? I'm on Variety and not sure of the difference. I'm trying to get myself as educated about the Sky product as I can before the next round of negotiations begins!

I questioned the 10 Months contract today and advised when could I get a new deal... was told to call back in month 9 and a new deal could be discussed before the price went up to full price.

They told me the same on Live Chat. I didn't believe them :rotfl:

I took up the 50% off any TV package offer on MySky through Live Chat. I was specifically told it did not tie me into a new 12 months contract and I would be on the 31 day rolling contract.

Yes I did email the transcript so I have the proof.

Yeah my 60% offer is on a rolling contract as well. They seem less inclined to tie people in this year for some reason. Maybe because they are offering 50/60% off and feel that people are unlikely to leave with that kind of saving?

Out of interest, how did you manage to email the transcript? The last few times I've been on chat I couldn't find the button and had to do the old copy & paste into a word document. Much simpler to email it though!

This was back in June. At the time the email transcript button was there.

I wonder if you could specifically ask for it to be emailed at the end of the chat although I would make sure to copy and paste it anyway in case they didn't do it.

They told me this again on live chat today when upgrading my tv contract. Have taken screen shots as proof from when the deal expires ;)

Deal I got on my TV - £29.25 for variety pack and Multiroom

So for TV, Phone, BB and Multiroom my new deal is £39.24

They may well discuss a new deal but don't expect it to be anything great ( if anything at all ) as you'll have no leverage and no option to cancel without early termination fees.

Why didn't you cancel and get at least 50% off for 12 months with no contract?

When haggling, yesterday, I was first offered 10 months , declined and explained why . They didn't disagree.

I've always declined any offer of 6/10 months for a 12 months contract. Wouldn't trust them for a minute to offer me a new deal after 9 months and still 3 months to run on contract.

That was exactly what I thought, apart from not fully trusting them, even with an email copy of live chat, it did occur to me that the last two months of the 12 would be at full price and I'd be at their mercy and in no strong position to secure a good deal.

As for me, I've decided I'm definitely not accepting any deal if I have to contract for 12 months.
I'll hold out for the same deal they offered me last year, which was 60% off, £100 credit and no contract, which still means they get more money from me because of their price rise in the summer. If they won't offer me that deal, I'll do without.
