Sky, Virgin & BT TV Haggle down prices and get serious discounts Article Discussion

Hi, after reading about the event deals we decided to go with Sky. I was reluctant as have heard bad things about them (& I dont like Murdoch)
We went with the fibre 25gb deal & added evening & wkend calls for another £4.
This deal seems to go to be true, movies, sport etc all thrown in & the total price for a 12month contact is £37.65 pm.
Sky seemed really quick to deal with me, cancelling BT & setup dates.
BT wanted £65 for 'equipment' as I did not realize that I still have 2 weeks contract left..... Sky offered to pay this & credited my account rather than me wait a couple of weeks.
I was amazed how desperate they are for customers!
TV was installed on Sunday, BB & phone swap next week.
Today I have received a bill from Sky, £75.50 pm, not showing the BB just the TV package.
40 mins on the phone & 3 advisers, none of who know anything about MSE deals later. im told that is the price for the TV package. But once the BB & phone goes live, it should auto reset itself onto the correct deal price.
So until today I was impressed with the service, but why does a company send out a bill, clearly different to what the deal is, & upset brand new customers?
Im only on day 2 of the 14 cooling off & if the bill is not sorted they can come & collect their box & remove their dish as well!!:mad:0 -
Got a decent deal on my renewal.
£7.50 unlimited fibre
£6.40 line rental
£8 original bundle
Total £21.90pm
£90 account credit
12 month contract, 12 month deal length. Can't argue with that, works out cheaper than my free for 12 months family bundle after the credits.0 -

I think I just said I used to be a customer and might want to come back.
I used the https://www.sky.com/comebacktosky link. If you're in your 30 day period they should offer something.0 -

I'm with Virgin Media and have the below, I don't actually want to leave but I have given notice under the price hike. I have
TV Size: XL
Broadband Size: XL (Up To 100mb)
Tivo
Talk Weekends
£46.50
Then
Line rental
£16.99
Loyalty discount @ £7 so overall its £56.49 per month
I cancelled due to the price hike and they cant / wont offer me a better deal, just £15 credit to cover 5 months of price hike.
Anybody else in the same boat? Sky deals do look good but I cant be bothered with a dish on the house and a new phone line having to be installed0 -
I got offered a really bad deal over the phone. Currently paying £79 for UL BB, anytime intl phone, variety, HD, F1, half price movies.
They offered me fibre for free if I removed F1 and movies.
I've cancelled TV but was told not to cancel phone/bb otherwise Virgin could not take over the number. No offers through on my offers page. Just an email with a number to call. Trying that later today. If I get no joy then it wiill be a switch to Virgin big kahuna. Their cabinet is 3ft from my house.0 -

Try the link I posted today, say your "friend" got offered 60% off with a credit to his account to stay, say you're just about to order with virgin and thought you'd give them a chance...0
