Just wanted to give a 'success' story about getting a discount.

Have been on the Variety Bundle, Sports, Movies, HD, 1x multiscreen (+ broadband, line rental, anytime talk) for a few years now.

I gave my 31 days notice on the TV package (only) a few days ago, via an online chat. Wasn't offered any discount or incentive. I did this in the hope I'd get offered a deal to stay in a few weeks.

Saw an advert on Sky this afternoon "Stay with Sky" offering 35% to customers who are leaving. I just did an online chat to see if I was eligible for this offer. The advisor was able to offer me a 50% discount (he offered it straight away, no haggling from me!).

So I took this, reducing my TV package from £64.50 to £32.25/month. It's still a lot to pay, but my monthly Sky DD is now £77.15 rather than £109.40 - a bit healthier!

I had the 50% discount for 4/5 years and even at that price I found it expensive when you include movies and HD.

I gave my notice to cancel and was offered 50% off again and still am getting the offer 50% off if you come back but i've since bought a freesat humax box and couldnt be happier. There is more than enough free content to keep me and the kids happy.

    Bye bye sky :j:j

I have today tried to negotiate a deal with sky and been offered £14 a month off our bill for 12 month contract. We have the full TV package - nothing else is sky nor do we want to change anything else. We have been loyal customers since Sky first came out. My husband is currently looking at changing over to BT Vision - he already has the sports channel with them. Does anyone think that £14 a month off is a good deal? To us it actually means an increase of £6.50 a month as we had a much better deal last year. Up to now we will be leaving but would love comments from anyone with recent dealings with them.:j
    September £30 cash-back £13 63 shares dividend!
    August £93 car boot!
    July £11

    June £73/£100
    May £29.71/£100

Depends on what you are paying each month. If it's less than 50% you can do better by actually cancelling and then waiting till they contact you.

Thanks Jem16 = think that is what we will do - it's nowhere near 50% :-)

My mum is after new internet/broadband provider so was looking at Sky to get TV too, she doesnt use anything much so after the cheapest prices
Was previously on EE paying line rental upfront for the year + £2 p/m for internet

Phone not used much, internet again the same, only use it on phones really as cant get any 3G etc so not big use at all
She likes the occasional football too
Was looking at the MSE Deal, works out £33.65 a month - good price for everything but she wouldn't need it all

Unlimited Broadband - Lite version would be fine, No need for Movies and Maybe the original/variety rather than the Family one.
But that works out more expensive as its not the deal

Can you get Refer a Friend or any Cashback with the MSE deal?

She also had offer of 60% + £100 credit months ago as she was a customer but was over 12 months ago now. but would need a dish as shes moved since and doesnt have one at the current address!
    Make £10 a day Challenge June - £170

Currently have Family package & Sky Sports with a 60% discount on Sky.

Called to downgrade package as a month remaining and was offered £10 off Sky Sports (approx 40%) on a monthly rolling contract.

The guy I spoke to said he'd only been in the job two weeks.

Didn't take them up so have downgraded to just original.

Not sure if I should have cancelled rather than downgraded?

You should have cancelled. Odds on you would have had a 50% offer within minutes via My Sky.

I've got nothing on there still. Not that I care really as I'm happy for it to go off.

Got a good deal on my broadband just for calling up and asking, got unlimited fibre for £7.50 per month and line rental reduced to £6.40 per month. Got a £40 credit too.

I wasn't even out of contract on my broadband either!
