Phoned BT last week for my father - they weren't interested in doing any deals for retention. I have had that experience before as well, so have convinced him to move providers !

Sorry to hear that. I called BT today, long call with a fab and experienced call handler. Managed to get my overall bill down a little through recontracting and getting a couple of extras included foc.

Also got the Sports pack until January at half price. Even allowing for that going up to £5.00 per month I'll still be paying a bit less than that in the overall bundle, so not too shabby a result.

I had a problem with my phone line last month, not sure if that had anything to do with it, but happy with the result overall.

Cancelling VM due price increase

Lease doesn't allow satellite dish, so, what options do we have?

Would prefer a package with same / similar channels to VM XL (no ne Sport, Film)

  • I currently have BT Infintity option 1 and unlimited phone calls all day. I have this for £23.15 and then pay line rental upfront for £169.90

Obviously this is going to go up with the price increases. What is my best options here? Change providers? Will I get a better deal for the same or less money elsewhere? Or do you think BT will budge in the price to encourage me to stay or increase the amount of Internet allowance for no cost??
Despite having infinity the speeds aren't great in my area and wireless drops out constantly.
    Help and advice needed please.

I can't see any discovery channels with those

    Mostly watched VM channels:

147,148, most of the 212, 213, etc., etc., (discovery channels)

We have the basic Sky package, had been on 12 months 75% discount (21.50 reduced to 5.73 per month), called up this weekend to cancel. Quoted a Talktalk TV leaflet at £10 per month, operator discounted our deal to match for 10 months. Slightly more than 50% discount so happy to renew. Took a 25 minute call from start to finish. Have always found Sky to be very helpful and quite clear about pricing and generous on discounts. For Sky better 50% of something than 100% of nothing!

Ok, so I just talked to Sky about renewing my package which ends at the end of August. Have to say it wasn't a pleasant experience.

I'm on basic package for everything plus a £5pm calls bundle for phone, due to go up to about £50pm. I spoke to someone last week who offered me a discount to £41pm which I rejected. Went online today and the advisor asked to call me. She had a STINKING attitude. Wouldn't discuss a new deal until the very end when she said "I could have offered you £34pm but your rejected that" she never even mentioned it! Also, she had already sent the cancellation through as I received the email whilst on the call....

Anyway, what's my next move? Do I call them back in a few days, wait it out or just move elsewhere? Am I likely to get a better offer? I wanted to possibly upgrade to family bundle and possible fibre BB too!

When I was on the phone to sky a couple of weeks ago I heard a very aggressive woman in the background, you possibly got her, she seemed a right cow. I'd call back later on this evening saying you want to clarify something and hopefully she'll have gone off shift. To me as you're upgrading you should have more bargaining power.

How did you manage to get speaking to Sky online? The chat never ever works for me.

Yeah, her name was Sharon and I actually enjoyed filling out the customer satisfaction survey after her call...

I think you're right, I'll call back later and see if I get anywhere!

It took ages to get on the chat! I literally sat with a window open waiting for about an hour. Lovely way to spend a day off.
