It's not the same as it was years ago. Telephone support times being cut, ticket system all but done away with in favour of Live Chat with decreased availability time.

There are many long term customers planning on moving away now. I would suggest you have a read through their Community Forum before deciding.

Thank you for the heads up, I'll go and have a read up. I'd found a good deal with them when comparing it to Sky, guess I can always use the deal to haggle with Sky though ;).

I've been a very happy PN customer for nearly 7 years now.
HOWEVER, I'm dreading the next time I have to ring them ,having read so many CS horror stories.
The latest announcements re phone costs from Sept. also are making Sky more attractive/competitive for next year when my current deals run out.
  • I have been with Plusnet now for 3 years. Service and price has been excellent. Can't really complain.

I got a really good offer this year from Sky to move my b/band & phone over to them. Spoke with Plusnet retentions and they offered me a better offer to stay so I did.

TV is with Sky and has been for 3 years. I am (again) on their 50% off deal that includes Sky sports.

I will next year use the same tricks to get deals with Sky and P/net. I am lucky as I am in a VM area and almost every month, I am getting deals to go to them. I will use this to my advantage, when I renew my services with P/net and Sky next year as I am sure their retentions depts will match, if not beat, any other offers that I get.

    HTHs.

well day one after cancelling sky,and no messages or offers in my sky account, however when i used the interactive on the remote,an offer of 35% off came up on my account for 12 months
is this the usual way they send their rentention offers out ?
  • Wait and you will get a 50% off deal. You may have to wait for a day after you cancellation date comes into effect.

Mine was on My Sky the next day and was valid for a week, it offered me 50% off family bundle and BB for 10 months, this really was no good to us so I let it expire yesterday. I am really thinking of letting the TV go as we don't watch sky channels much, DH does like the footie but there were only 25 games for his team last season so it is hardly worth the amount they charge as he can go to the pub and watch it cheaper. I will need BB and phone but am so unsure of who to go with, Virgin just seems so complicated, I was with them donkeys years ago when they were telewest and they made a right mess of the driveway for the cable and the wire worked its way out in the end. I'm not touching BT had too many bad experiences from them and have now heard Plusnet are not so good...I'm so confused :o

I cancelled on saturday and so far have received no offers. Not particularly bothered as, even at 60% off, I wouldn't re-sign. Only thing is I keep thinking "Why aren't you wanting to keep me? What's wrong with me?", but I think the answer may well be that they are fed up with me as I only ever use them if they offfer me something - I have never paid them anywhere near full price for their services.
