received phone call today with 60% off tv with free bb which i turned down.
will they call again with another offer.
Some people get several calls, while other get one or even none at all.
I received just one, but was not home at the time. My husband took the call (I'm the account holder) and they promised to call back, but never did.0 -

He came back 2 mins later and offered me EVERYTHING (movies, sports the lot) for £36.40 if I switch phone and broadband (included in the price) and pay any cancellation charges up to £100. He said it was a take it or leave it offer and it's the same deal they offer friends and family of sky employees. It actually worked out cheaper than the 50% off deal and I got also movies thrown in (which I wasn't even bothered about).
It works out £13 a month more for both sports and movies from what I pay now for basic package (it would have cost £20 just for sports otherwise). I didn't really want to switch phone and broadband but seemed too good to turn down.
So it's well worth asking if they can offer an even better deal for new customers then the ones being advertised.
That's very good. I just spoke to them saying we want to leave and they offered £45 a month for tv and broadband (including sky sports)0 -
Bill just gone up to £76.40 per month as a previous discount has ended.
Must've spoken to the grumpiest rudest advisor tonight.
Not in the least helpful & said that £12 a month discount was amazing!!
Not when the Sky box barely works, the broadband is super slow & complaints are never dealt with.
So much for my 13 years of loyalty lol
Bye Sky!!!!0 -
I've just been on live chat again and this time there wasn't an email icon.
I think sky use 2 different types of chat software. Before i was browsing the buy a bundle part of the website and i think it connected to India, or wherever it is.
This time i was logged into my account and the chat window popped up.
In short, it wasn't your browser i don't think.
Thanks for this.
My live chat was with Scotland, assuming the operator wasn't just using a script to make you believe they were based in the U.K.
I know I can copy and paste the chat into a word document, but if I agree any deal I wanted the chat session emailed so there would be no dispute of what I signed up for.0 -
Where do the 60% offers, etc. appear in My Sky? Do they come up as soon as you login if available?
Been with Sky for 2 years, Family Bundle + Sports + Movies + HD and line rental and unlimited broadband. Had 50% off TV and free broadband for the first year but with the offers gone and price increases it's now £99.65/month. Fibre broadband has just become available here - nearly 2 hours on chat the other night and the best they could do was £85/month - with fibre discount ending after 6 months and TV discount 10 months so told them to process the cancellation.
Going to switch phone + broadband to BT but would be tempted to keep the Sky for a decent offer.0 -

Phone Sky up, and ask for cancellations tell them you wish to give 31 days notice, they will try to stop you leaving with an offer.
If you don't want the offer just say no thanks I still wish to cancel, they will then put a message on your account saying 31 days notice.
Give it 3-5 days then log into My Sky, where there should be an offer, (mine was there after 4 days) it will say what they are offering you to stay and if you wish to stay press live chat..
If you are not happy with the offer and feel you can get more from them then haggle with them..
Good luck...0 -

Exactly this. My 50% offer which I got to 60% when I went on live chat appeared literally seconds after I came off Live Chat from cancelling my sky package. :rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Cheers guys, I gave cancellation notice on Wednesday night over live chat, had seen people saying offers popped up straight away but nothing come up yet - will see what happens. BT Infinity & TV going live 10th July.0

Yes a cracking deal, although when I phoned Virgin today to cancel they warned me about broadband speeds from SKY and said someone will call me back later and offer me a similar package to stay with them. Looks like the only way to get deals is to force their hand by signing up with someone else. Apparently you can still cancel until they actually install so it's not to late to get a better deal elsewhere then phone SKY back. I'm hoping to stay with Virgin now as their broadband is amazing.0 -

Its funny how they all slag each other off, I told Sky I'd been offered a better deal with Virgin and the guy said "Oh there tv isn't very good at all" :rotfl:0
