I've been without sky for 5 months now and been offered the 60% but now they are desperate and offering 100 GBP towards bill. They also offered me free new box with 12 months contract. I am going to go for this.

To those that have used live chat can you email the chat conversation once it is over?

Last year after using the online chat I was given the option to have it emailed to me which I did, however last week there was no option to do this. Just wondering if they have stopped this, or if it is perhaps web browser specific.

    Thanks.

Was this on via telephone conversation or live chat?
  • My TV contract ended last week after I cancelled it via chat, no hard sell to rejoin so didn't and I logged back into my account on Friday to have the 60% off and £100 credit 'come back' message. Opted to sign back up for the family bundle which we had previously at £14.40 a month. All was going well, received credit with 4/5 hours and email to say channels were reactivated however in the email it said my monthly payments would be £18 per month even though the email said otherwise. After 3 chat sessions with SKY, which the advisor said my account was only allowed 50% & you shouldn't receive both of those offers together as they were too big, it was sent to the investigations team. After 30 mins got an email back to say account had been changed. Logged back in and monthly payments are now £14.40. Keep hold of any correspondence and get your chat conversations emailed to you if this happens to you. Good luck to all.

There should be an email icon at the top of the chat window.

    Thank you itstheone and jem16.

There was only a close chat icon in the top right hand corner.

I was using Firefox web browser so perhaps that is why it didn't show.
  • Just phoned SKY to enquire about their 50% off deal to switch TV from Virgin Media. Iworked out it would only save me 75p to switch to their sky sports package so I asked if he could offer me anything else.

He came back 2 mins later and offered me EVERYTHING (movies, sports the lot) for £36.40 if I switch phone and broadband (included in the price) and pay any cancellation charges up to £100. He said it was a take it or leave it offer and it's the same deal they offer friends and family of sky employees. It actually worked out cheaper than the 50% off deal and I got also movies thrown in (which I wasn't even bothered about).

It works out £13 a month more for both sports and movies from what I pay now for basic package (it would have cost £20 just for sports otherwise). I didn't really want to switch phone and broadband but seemed too good to turn down.

So it's well worth asking if they can offer an even better deal for new customers then the ones being advertised. :)

I've just been on live chat again and this time there wasn't an email icon.
I think sky use 2 different types of chat software. Before i was browsing the buy a bundle part of the website and i think it connected to India, or wherever it is.

This time i was logged into my account and the chat window popped up.

In short, it wasn't your browser i don't think.
