  • Cancelled Sky TV on Sunday just gone after 20 years with them, past 12 months I have been paying £64.50 which is for Sky Variety, Sky Sports 1-5 and MUTV, also have Sky Multiscreen.
As from next month Sky want me to pay £73.75.

Told them wanted to cancel as couldn't afford the price and no champions league, he went away 5 minutes later he came back and offered me Sky for £61.75 for 6 months then £65.25 for 4 months..
I refused and say no sorry it is still too much so will give 31 days notice, which he accepted, told me the Sky service would be switched off on 8th July..
With that he said goodbye and put the phone down.. Am hoping they come back with a deal :(

Will wait and see what happens now..

Got another call today been disconnected for a good few month now, they offered 33 off for a year, seemed a bit out out when I told him I'd been offered much more several times and wasn't interested. Also offered phone and broadband with recording functionality on the sky box for 16 quid. Again seemed a bit put out when I told him I paid half that now for phone and BB and have no desire to pay to pause or record.

Cancelled my sky, called them a few times and tried the chat to try to get a better deal than 50% off, they were having none of it.

2 days before im due to be switched off, bam email,
    60% off all packages
    50% off Multiroom
    £50 cash back
Total price £39.07 (£34.91 with £50 cash back)

All on a 12 month contract

The strange part was I went in chat and the guy asked me what my email said, so essentially anyone could just go on chat and say they received the same email....

    Any who that's my 5cents

straight away on my "my sky" page was 50% off all packages to stay, which on my post on last page i couldn't have?
I've since gone down another road to get sky, but my 50% off as now gone up to 60% off!
it may be worth hanging on another week if you do get the 50% offer

I would like to cancel but the biggest trouble i am actually having is connecting to the online chat to cancel. It is an absolute joke i have been waiting for 30 mins and it still says agents are busy! I only want to use the chat route to cancel incase i get an offer. I am afraid if i cancel my phone or email they will just say bye. Has everybody else "cancelled" by using online chat?

If you're going to get an offer, you will get it by phone too. However the best deals are usually got once the cancellation has been put through so you really do want them to just say bye.

No the majority of people will have cancelled by phone.

i finally got through... I was originally offered a deal where it would be more than i am currently paying! But then the friendly agent went away for a moment and i was offered the same price (which is a discount already) for next 12 months so really can't complain saving myself over £13 a month. So more than happy
