Hi, I went back to sky in November 2014 as they could give me the package I used to be on for £52 a month - family, sports, broadband, phone and an ipad note 4. The engineer broke the ariel so i could not watch tv for 2 weeks, was told to download sky go for ipad, it said its incompatable!!! they didn't re-register my viewing card or even connect my phone to broadband I could not watch ondemand, hd till 2 months ago, I had to figure it out myself! I am also being charged for sky go which was free. I made 3 phone calls last month and im paying £26 for phone. have sent 3 emails ad phoned but no response back!!! and now prices have increased -PLEASE HELP!!!!-

The note 4 isn't an iPad. It's a Samsung tablet. The iPad is an Apple tablet.

Sky doesn't have an aerial, it has a dish. Is that what was broken?
was told to download sky go for ipad, it said its incompatable!!!

That's because you don't have an iPad. You have a Samsung tablet Note 4 which wasn't compatible with Sky Go last October but which now is.
they didn't re-register my viewing card or even connect my phone to broadband I could not watch ondemand, hd till 2 months ago, I had to figure it out myself!

Watching in HD is nothing to do with broadband. On Demand would need a BB connection though. What do you mean by didn't connect it to your phone?
I am also being charged for sky go which was free.

Sky Go is free. Sky Go Extra is chargeable unless you have multi screen. Did you sign up for Sky Go Extra?

    Help with what exactly?

As in post #7668... and your mention of '£26 for phone' is not clear. Full price line rental is £16.40, but landline calls to mobiles will work out expensive. Did you make three calls to mobiles or have very long landline conversations?

Suspect a one-post user, possibly a rant or maybe looking for advice.

I see Phone Line is £16.40, and Fibre Broadband is £10, therefore £26.40 (aka £26.00).

I see Normal Broadband (that slow 10MB one...eek) is usually given out Free..
  • I have TV through Sky with multi-room and HD. Phone and BB with virgin (100mb). Both were around the £50 mark - so £100 / mth. Told each that i was leaving and was prepared to reduce my requirements down to what I needed. Virgin now 100mb for £33.49/mth and Sky variety bundle for £7.32! Both 12 month contracts but have reduced monthly cost by £60 - saving £720 over the year!

The trick with Sky was to say that I wanted the faster BB of virgin and would pay £7/month for NOW TV so I could get Sky Atlantic. They got as close to that price just to keep me on board for another 12 months and so I wouldn't go full in with Virgin. Virgin not prepared to concede as much ground but were quite helpful (at second attempt) by telling me that I didn't need their talk anytime and better off with talk weekend - which saved £8 straight off. They are also sending me their new router to replace the old (and frankly dodgy) Superhub.

It pays to make the call because none of these deals are on the internet - you need to call as a potential cancellation. Good luck!

We left Sky in December and have had various offers since, including the 33% off for 5 years etc.

Well had a call from the Derby Retentions team on Friday (01332 STD Code) and a new offer came up.

Still 60% off with no contract, but 3 months free to start !

I know it's probably because the football season has finished, but its been the first free time offer for a while.

Still said no, I'm quite enjoying sub free TV from Freesat.

Not quite sure what your question is but the £10 fibre is limited (25GB) rather than unlimited like the £20 one.

Just been on live chat to Sky. They said the best they could offer was Family TV, Unlimited Fibre, Sky Talk Weekends for £47.40 for 6 months, then £57.40. This includes line rental. I declined as I quoted them the Big Kahuna bundle Virgin are offering for £49.98 which includes much faster Fibre broadband. The first adviser I spoke to didn't seem to believe me when I told him about this deal, as he said either something doesn't add up or Sky will soon be going out of business. However he did say he was unable to match the deal. I then got through to another adviser who offered the exact same deal, again I declined and she said that was the absolute best she could do.

Do I be persistent and keep trying? This is the first time I've tried to haggle with Sky.

The best deals will come after you have put in your cancellation notice. Then you will usually get a call from the Win Back team.

Do you actually need to cancel, or do you ask to cancel and then while you're in the process of cancelling do they send out offers? I don't really want the hassle of having to go without the services or have them reinstated.
