If it's all that's being offered it's better than nothing. However last year it was 12 months deals and in some cases with no tie in at all.

Yeah it is annoying as the last deal was 12, but we'll see if they stick to there word and let us call after 10 months. I don't mind new contracts if I benefit from them!

I phoned up Sky on behalf of my dad and got a £13 discount for 10 months off a £72 bill. He's been with them for 20 years.

He really wants a '2tb sky+HD box' but they refused unless he took multi-room.

Has anybody had any luck getting one of these boxes and are my negotiation skills rubbish?

    Cheers

Does he really need a 2tb box ? Our 500Gb HD+ box is never anywhere near full and there are still lots of unwatched programmes stored.

Perhaps you'd get a better chance with a lower spec box, as they offer a replacement, plus engineer callout for £30, provided that the faulty box is not bought second hand, according to a post by an employee (on another thread).

Live chat for an hour, 50% increased to 60% (Managers Special)..

Still not good enough... Variety/Sports/Movies - £25.20 per month

    Sky Caved....

Unfortunately they said "No" to £120, therefore £100 it was.

Overall, £17.47 for this package per month, on a 12 month contract.

Movies and Sports are not on a contract, therefore can be cancelled. If so, this brings the Variety package to £20 per year...

    Awesome..

Well 2 weeks into cancellation and tried and failed twice to get the 60% + £100 so will continue to leave and see if I can get it then.

Family £36 would go to £14.40 with 60% plus £100 effectively makes this just over £6 per month. Wife will insist on multi room which I don't think will be discounted. And will continue to cancel movies and go to NOWTV movies plus Netflix. That's the plan. Will see if it works out. A lot lot better than £67 per month currently paying

Did you manage a discount for 12 months or for 10 months as seems to be the favourite with Sky just now?

Yes, 12 months contract on Variety.

Yes but is the discount also for 12 months?

Most offers I've read about and been offered for my parents are for 10 months but still with a 12 months contract so basically having to pay full price for 2 months.

Contacted Sky to cancel as BT were offering for 12mths Unlimited fibre optic broadband, TV inc BT Sports, line rental and all inclusive calls package for £34.79 a month.

Current Sky TV/broadband package costs £46 a month but this was to go up to £64 a month from July when all the discounts finished.

They have offered to reduce my payments to £38.40 a month for 10 months and told me to phone up when this is due to end to see what they can offer me then!
