I don't think they respond to the survey; just using it for statistics.

I agree. If they responded to the survey they would have called me to discuss.
I've got no intention of going back unless they offer me what I'm prepared to pay. That's looking increasingly unlikely because the offers that were around in September when I cancelled don't seem to be around now. And now I've been without Sky for nearly a week, I'm really not missing it, so I tend to think that whatever they may offer in the future, it won't tempt me back.
As many have said already on this thread, it's definitely a case of being prepared to go through with cancelling it, knowing what sort of offer you want and seeing what they come up with.

Not sure how their discounting "works" -tales of £100 bill credits as well as 50% off?
For a basic package customer that would represent a further 40% discount over the year !!- I presume that they can only offer that size of bill credit for customers taking a LOT more than a basic Sky TV package!

Clearly. Sky is obviously going to be keener to retain customers with a full subscription (especially with broadband & 'phone).

I'm not sure why the £100 credit has been applied, though. It would be nice if the OP offered some explanation.
  • Perhaps customers like me aren't worth them bothering with now. Perhaps they are more interested in those who have the lot ??
After all, I only have the Original Bundler + Sky Sports so am not expecting a call from them after they 'cut me off' when the notice period finishes at the end of the month.

    Old Grumps.

..thats all I had!! -but got 50% off plus £25 bill credit:T -and I was only off for 24 hours -suspect that if I'd left it a month or so, I would have got the 60% offers which others seem to be getting ..oh well:)

Today, I spoke to Louis, in Derby, and within minutes was offered what I wanted, ie free line rental.

    QUOTE]

Any chance of having his number - as that what Im after :D

Im currently on the basic broadband, but want to upgrade to fibre, as we onlky get about 2mb speed right now. Theyre doing a Sky Fibre offer of £10 for 12 months, but then £20 for the remaining 6 months of the contract. Also ties you in to a 18 month line rental. So need to decide if thats a good deal , based on what my line rental will be.
We can get Virgin here , so I will use that as abargaining tool.

I just cancelled my Sky World package with phone line and fibre (£106 p/m) after 14 years custom as it is my intention to move to VM. Took a call from their retention team today, and they offered me Sky Family (same channels but without Sports and Movies) with line rental and fibre for their absolutely lowest price of £57.99 a month for 12 months.

They are calling back later, but as this is more than a new subscriber would pay for the same services, I will politely decline.

Well I got a letter from Sky saying 35% off Sky TV for 12 months which means 21.45 for 50 Family Bundle Channels. But it limited to 9 November - today. That bit of paper has mention of loads of HD channels. I looked at the small print and it says the HD is not included. Thats a dodgy advert from a legal perspective. Also prices may go up during your subscription. MMmm! The My Sky page still only says 25% off.

Question - should I call the comeback to Sky people or just wait till they dump me?

The Family Bundle includes HD channels and any offer for that bundle will include the channels in HD. What is not included in HD is if you add the Movies and Sports you need to pay extra for HD and that is not reduced.

That's standard practice. All offers are still subject to normal price increases. You still get your discount but based on the new price.

You should be able to get 50% if you wait.
