Just another update.
Service went off earlier this week, checked My Sky just now and it's offering me 50% off any Sky TV bundle or a Samsung Galaxy 7" Tab 4.0 -
After I cancelled, they offered me 60per cent off for a year with no contract. I told them that I would be interested if they also offered me £50 credit as I had heard that some people got this. So they offered it to me. I am on the variety bundle which is around £11 per month. This credit amounts to around 4 months free and then I will cancel. Thank you very much Mr Murdoch!0

Well done!
That's similar to the deals that were being offered a few weeks ago, around the time I cancelled. I decided then that I would only consider going back to Sky if they offered me 60% discount and no contract. My bundle was £67 a month after the recent price increase, no HD, no multiroom. Crazy money!
It's been off a few days now and I'm not missing it.
Am considering selling my Sky+ box and trying to find out if the little Sky wireless box that cost me £10 a couple of years ago can be used for anything else.0 -
Just had an email from sky opinion research company, Snapsurvey, asking me why I wanted to leave sky and what they could do about it. So I told them I wanted the Sky+ box, Movies Bundle forunder £30 a month - just like a new user AND a credit for being loyal for 12 years. Lets see what happens...prolly nothing. D Day is 19th Nov.0

Just given notice after 75% discount for 12 months. Got offered equivalent of £20 off so said to cancel. Stroppy lady said not realistic to expect that level of discount every year, and has made notes to retentions that is maximum discount allowed PERIOD!
Quiet chuckle to myself, No problem love! ;-)
So Sky TV chicken begins, but I don't care if it goes off, scuppers their new tactics, lol0 -

I got that email about two weeks ago, so two weeks before D Day.
If you see my most recent post you'll see that they've offered me 50% off on My Sky now that it's actually been switched off. The best up to now was 35% off.
Hold your nerve and see what they come up with.0 -
I don't think they respond to the survey; just using it for statistics.0

Interesting! Thank you for the encouragement.0 -

I hope it is given to Sky and not just aggregated anonymously. I cant remember the exact wording but it requested permission to use my email address to contact me about what I had said. I should pay more attention when I am clicking permission for things on the internet.0 -

The day mine went off ,the MySky page showed 50% up from 35% -I went on the online chat function shortly afterwards and tried for 60% but no go -but I did get £25 bill credit -possibly if I had held out for a few weeks I might have been able to negotiate the 60% off or a bigger bill credit...a £50 credit would have almost been worth the extra 10% on my package....but I was getting gyp from 'er indoors because she was going to miss Arrow!!!:rotfl:
As per other threads, I was very polite, almost apologetic about my current very poor financial state -and it got me what I wanted ,a package inc Sports for less than £21 pm equivalent.
The funny thing was that the agent tried to sell me an upgrade to the Family pack or Movies after I'd pleaded extreme poverty:rotfl:0
