I had a new letter from sky yesterday. 50% off TV for 12 months or a free Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 tablet.
That went in the bin to join the others.0 -

Now to try and blag an extra few bob as a bill credit!
Went on online chat - pleaded poverty and ended getting 50% off offer together with £25 bill credit - pretty darn good considering that is on only the basic package plus Sports - no HD/Multiroom/Movies and phone and broadband elsewhere :T0 -
Can any one clarify - I cancelled and there is an offer under the My Sky tab offering 25% off and a Sky+ box.
What are they offering 25% off from - a new tariff or my existing one?
Would people recommend waiting or doing the on line chat option and barter with them?0 -
25% off a new tariff. Probably TV but not HD or multiroom.
If you are happy to wait then you should find 50% off offers arriving soon.0 -

I went to chat and was offered 50% off my existing tariff without much effort after having a 35% offer in My Sky.
The discount applies to the plan, and extras like Sport and Movies, but not multiroom or HD subs.====0 -
We just cancelled Sky (last day was yesterday) but they are only offering us 50% at the moment. Not really bothered about it but might change our minds if they offer us 75%,0

The 35% offer is still showing for me on My Sky.
Apart from the missed call almost 3 weeks ago, and the questionnaire, absolutely nothing else from them.
But fair enough - I'll be £67 a month better off without it.
Just going crazy trying to watch everything in my planner before it gets cut off! :rotfl:
FYI, if you get offered 35% off before you cancel then this is the best you'll get as this means you have chosen not to get marketing/winback calls/offers from Sky to rejoin after you cancel.
That's how it's supposed to be but I can see from some later posts that they have "bottled it" and given better winback offers to rejoin in inbound calls.0 -

The £2.50 no-tv charge isn't added to any accounts where the tv was cancelled after the 30th of September 2014.0 -
18 month Virgin Media deal came to and end mid Oct-14. Here was my haggling journey:
Phone call 1 - whilst still within contract, I called normal Customer Services team to ask what was the best deal for:- TV Full package - all channels and HD
- All sports channels in HD
- No movies
- Keep existing Tivo box 1G
- Extra Virgin Media box (not Tivo) for another room
- Broadband - 152mb in our area
- Phone - Weekend calls only
Was offered £10 off list price so £76.50 per month. Said I'd think about it.
Phone call 2 - called normal Customer Services team and gave 30 days notice to end contract. No offers made but notice given on account.
Phone call 3 - within 48 hours the retentions or "refuse to lose" team called me back. They offered me the same deal for £66.50. Again, I said I'd think about it.
Phone call 4 - refuse to lose team called again. I had done further research comparing Sky and said I was looking for around the £55.00 mark. Was offered £56.50. I said I needed to check with my husband.
Phone call 5 - refuse to lose team call again. Had an offer through the post for new Virgin Media TV customers who get 6 months Netflix for free. I said I would sign up to the £56.50 deal if they threw in the 6 months Netflix. They said yes! All sorted!!
Had you seen this new customer deal would you have pushed a bit harder?

I'm not sure why my money isn't as good as other people's but it's their loss not mine
Sky went off yesterday.
The only offers have been one missed call to my landline number, one snail mail leaflet - 35% and the same 35% which has been on My Sky since about an hour after I called to cancel.
I'm £67 a month better off and as I've said in previous posts, I will miss the Sky+ box , but that's it.
I've got an old Goodmans twin tuner that cost me about £39 in Sainsburys back in 2007. Hooked it up yesterday. No HD, no rewind (pause Live tv works fine) and no Series Link, but otherwise it's fine.
I've got my eye on a couple of Humax and Panasonic HD units that do both offer series link and rewind. 4 months without Sky and they'll pay for themselves with a bit of cash left over.:T0
