I called Sky to cancel yesterday and they offered me 10% off on the phone which I declined. I was on the family bundle which was costing £33 a month. My OH wanted sports channels so I was looking into alternatives as couldn't justify an extra £24.50 a month. Looked on my home page on sky thanks to this thread to see I had 35% off TV. Clicked the live chat link to ask about it and they offered 50% off without me asking. Now have the family bundle, movies and sports for £33 a month on a 12month contract. Had been less than 8hours from me cancelling. I'm happy because it saves me the effort of changing providers and I thought that seemed like a good deal.
Thanks to everyone on this thread, was looking for alternatives but got a good deal without much hassle!

  • Hi All,
I cancelled with Sky yesterday after the retentions department only offered me £3 off per month. I do want to stick with them and get a better deal, but wondering if I need to hold out and wait for the deal to appear in MySky as they seem to have done in previous posts. Any thoughts on how long 'who blinks first' are appreciated!

Mine appeared within an hour but it wasn't under the offers section. I think when I logged in I just pressed the my sky tab and it came up there...

Same here, in fact going straight to the "upgrade" page where offers normally are showed an error, I only had the offer showing on the My Sky page at login.

Sometimes it takes a while. The first time I was offered 50% off it took about 2 weeks, the second time it took several months to get an offer.

I think I would have waited for ever, as I received no mailings or offers on My Sky. I got my tv deal, as I had cancelled and called about a phone/bb deal. They didn't offer to reinstate tv; I had to ask, so no pressure sales.
  • Great stuff, thanks for this. If I dont hear anything Ill give them a call and see what they can do.
