FYI, if you get offered 35% off before you cancel then this is the best you'll get as this means you have chosen not to get marketing/winback calls/offers from Sky to rejoin after you cancel.
.
Actually I've just read this again after posting above, and I do have the settings on My Sky switched to yes so that they can call/write/email me with marketing stuff.0 -
Hi all,
Noticed some of you mentioning that you have haggled with retentions over Live Chat. Would someone please post the link as I can't see a link for it on the Sky website?
many thanks!0 -

Do TalkTalk & BT offer all the same channels as sky? Their websites are so full of "sign up now" rubbish that I can't see what my mum would be losing if she cancelled Sky. FYI she's a dyed in the wool Sky fan paying the top price for the full package for at least 20 years0

Hi all,
I decided I am not prepared to pay the current price for my Sky TV package any longer as, in effect, all I want it for is the sports.
.
I rang Sky this morning and told them, very politely of course, that as a person living on a pension I can no longer afford £46 a month and would like to cancel.
Very nice young lady asked if I would stay if she could offer me a better price and I said that of course I would, if the price was right, as I am happy with the service.
Sadly the best she could do was to offer a £9 discount so I have given 30 days formal notice and will be "terminated" on 30th Nov.
.
Interestingly she agreed that it was unfair to offer new customers 50% discounts but not loyal existing ones and also that they receive a lot of complaints about that !

Cancelled ours in august, only had offers for 33% off for 5 years. So glad we're saving the money instead. Will probably review in 6 months and consider using the the customer discount in a different name. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Regardless, you may be offered a better retention deal after your service is removed in a month.0 -
It always seems short-sighted when companies do this to 'loyal' customers in the pursuit of growth.
That said from what I've seen Sky tend to wait until the cancelation has gone through now and then contact you with offers as a lot of people were calling up to cancel with no real intention to in order to get better deals - or at least that's what I've gathered from reading posts here.0 -
Went online to cancel and first offer from the was to downgrade my package, saving me a £5. Very generous!
Lets see what's next.0
