I phoned Sky cancellations tonight to try and get a decent deal after this one (25% off for 12 months) runs out in August.
However, as sometimes happens no deal offered apart from the phone and braodband that I don't want - so the cancellation went ahead with the usual 'insincere' (he sounded like he couldn't care less) 'Sorry you're leaving Sky' etc...
Now I have been playing this game for a good few years, and this will be my second such cancellation out of about 10 deals, so not surprised - know you have to be prepared to go through with it.
My question is regarding follow up... has anyone cancelled recently and did they get offered anything in the couple of months after switch off - like I did probably 3 years ago.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.0 -
First time thread so go easy on me guys
Like a few comments others have posted on here i am looking to rejoin sky (left them years ago) was just wondering, when contacting them its best to say your a new customer or are thinking of rejoining? I phoned them last week because i am interested in getting it installed for the start of the football season, which looking online at their packages should work out bout £40 pm. When i got through to the salesman who was very rube and pushy he told me the package would be £62 pm!!! Im just wondering whether anybody has recently joined sky and got any sort of deals. Or if anybody else could help me it would be most grateful
slightly off topic i hoping to get bb with sky aswel cos my curent deal with talk talk expires 4th of august.Has anyone had any experience switching and is it completcated?
I signed up to Sky at the weekend as a new customer - the deals i was looking at online weren't applicable to me as i have to have broadband connect due to the area i live in but had i of signed up online it would have been £50.75 - for the exact same by phoning them it was £43.75 BUT make sure you get a breakdown of everything as they offered me £30 for securing my custom but then i had to pay £38.50 upfront - when i queried what this was for it was half the first months payment plus £19.50 "telephone installation" - however on checking online this would only have been £10 - i rang back and got another credit for £9.50!!A home is not a home ..... without a dog0 -

After having Sky TV turned off 9 days ago (they did offer 1/2 price - I declined), I called today to say I was thinking of leaving broadband and talk package as I'd found a cheaper deal (BT line rental paying a year up front and O2 6 months free broadband) and wondering if they had any deals that would be any cheaper (I was hoping free broadband for 6 months). They said there were no deals so I've not purchased my BT Line Rental and need to wait til it's set up to get my broadband switched over. Saving of £72 in the next 12 month (plus £50 cashback if BT hurry up and do the switch before 31st July!)0

Buck,
What package do you have with Sky and is BT or Virgin available to you? Just wondering why they were willing to let you go?0 -
Can't believe it! Just rang Virgin Media to cancel our TV, phone & broadband package due to increasing bills. Instead, they offered to keep the call package, upgrade the TV and broadband, send us a wireless router, and reduce our monthly bill from over £50 to £21!
Just wish I'd rung tham sooner - could've saved a fortune!
Thanks MSE! :beer:Champion Cheapskate0
