I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but i'd like to sign up for Sky, are there any special deals around at the moment?

I don't think so tbh, the only thing is if you sign up you get M&S vouchers, dependant on what you sign upto.

I was getting £25 vouchers for the package I was signing upto (£39.25 per month, tv, b/b, phone incl line rental). Think it goes to £50 if your package is higher again i.e. more channels etc.

Hmmm, I'm due to phone Sky shortly as my contract runs out in a week. I've tried going down the 'can't afford it' route in the past with some success but now I want to upgrade to HD so this ain't really going to work. Does anyone ever get any great deals by being honest and saying exactly what you'd like and what they could give it you for...or is cancellation threatening the place for great deals?

...also, I'd be interested if this was a problem for anyone else...say they granted my wishes and said they'd come out next week to install everything, what do people do who have a mass of stuff on their + box...I presume you'd lose it all??!

...by the way, I've been with them continually since around 1993 and have the full Sky+ package (...no HD, no multi-room), but would ideally like HD downstairs and HD upstairs...it really is ridiculous when you think that that on it's own, before any sub, box price or installation charges is applied, would cost you over £30!!!!!

Ask them if they will give a bigger discount, if give them your moblie phone PIN. :D

    Hi,
We are looking at making some reductions to our outgoings. I've just checked my statement - we have been with Virgin for about 10 year. I think I might be paying too much, what do you think?

    Line Rental £12.99
    Talk Unlimited £8.00
    TV XL £26.00
    2 Additional V boxes £30.00
    BB L £26.00
    Triple Loyalty Discount -£21.20
    Additional box discount -£17.00
    Total £64.79

    Thanks Dassad

Your deal sounds pretty good and its very similar to mine.

Just rang up as our 6 months half price expired.

Got offered 25% for a year and a 12 month contract. Wasnt my cup of tea so asked if they could throw in a HD box for free, said i had to have subscription and theyll give me box for free + £15 to post to me (lol).

So turned them down and said ill reaccess finances to see if we can live within a 25% discount. Will try again later

Surely you'd be better off reassessing your finances, than going back into them again. ;):D

had it half-price for the last six months, but this came to an end this month. had been told they don't do back-to-back discounts, but thought I would give it a try anyway. rung them up, told them I wanted to cancel and was going to go to VM (have already got VM broadband and phone) and was offered another 6 months at half-price, so £20 for the sports and 3 of the mixes till next January. happy days:D

Well done, when i got my 6 months half price orignally they said ring up when it expires and they may be able to do something for you. So thats how i start the call.

May have to consider using virgin to get another 6 months off then.
