I wonder whether your future bills will confirm that verbal offer (£xx.37 is obviously not a standard Sky subscription).
But it is half of the £40.75 it should cost.
  • I got a decent reduction - 20% for 6 months - in January and was told to ring back when it came to an end.
Have just done so (to the downgrades dept) and been told that Sky don't do "back-to-back offers" and all I have ended up with is a £3 a month reduction by cutting out some of my channels.
When I asked if I could call back in a month's time as that would not then be back-to-back, I got a very frosty reception from a man who was clearly not going to budge! Being a Sky customer for more than 20 years cut no ice either.

i've had 2 free phone line rental offers now back to back, don't give up - just try again on another day! :)
  • Hello,

This is my first post to MSE and I would like some advice.

I recently received a letter from BT saying that my phone contract is up for renewal. I had a look at my bill and am I paying £14.30 for the Unlimited Evening and Weekend package, £12.50 for Bronze BT Vision but £21.50 for Option 2 Broadband. I've seen others such as Sky and Virgin charging much less for their Broadband. What I'd like to know is am I paying over the odds or is there a chance that I could haggle them down on the broadband? £50 per month does seem a lot.

    Thanks.

I haggled with virgin media a few days ago.

    I now have
    BB 10mb
    TV XLHD
    Phone L
mobile phone 50calls 500 SMS (xperia x10 mini pro) delivered in 10 hours!

all for £50 a month. ( was paying £55 without the phone)

So i cancelled my sim only deal with orange, making a saving of £20 a month with a shiny new phone.

I have been with Sky for 3 year's, got a cracking bit of cashback plus M&S vouchers when I originally joined.

Just called and mentioned that Virgin have sent me junk mail offering a better deal including fibreoptic broadband and I was offered 50% off for 6 months, worth £120 in total. My only regret is not calling sooner.

Does anyone have any advice on the following: I am moving into a brand new flat which has been hooked up for Sky. Unfortunately, as it is on the Poplar exchange (East London), it means that I am not able to get Sky's regular phone and broadband add ons, so unfortunately (unless anyone knows better), they will not be an option. Therefore, what is the best deal I can currently get for Sky+ (the TV package only)? It appears that all the good cash-back deals ended a week ago. Also, because I kept Sky on at a previous address (for the benefit of my mother, who has now moved on as well), it might be that I would not be treated as a new customer (that subscription was terminated 3 months ago). I have also missed out on the latest returning customer deal of half price for 12 months (and it wouldn't have worked in my case because my mother sold the Sky+HD box). I'm hoping the main topic will be updated again soon. Thanks in advance for any suggestions [previously posted on thread about becoming a 'new' sky customer again].

hello I am new to this site.

I would like to know if i have a good deal from virgin or if it's worth haggling...sorry if i get the terminology wrong.

BTW we have been with them since they were ninex!

    50mb broadband
phone line with any time calls
    tv xl
    sky movies package
    v+ box downstairs
normal V box (hd ready?) upstairs.

we pay £98.xx per month on direct debit.

I would like to get the 100mb broadband and Tivo box downstairs moving the v+ box upstairs & getting rid of the normal box.

best they would offer was £109.xx per month & £49.95 fee to cover box/install/activation. (this is for the small tivo box).

any help to reduce this would be great!

    thank you.
