Currently with Virgin, but thinking of moving to Sky.

    Currently pay:-

    Line Rental £12.99
    Talk Unlimited £8.00
    Call Display £2.05
    XL TV £26.00
    L BB £26.00
Have against that total loyalty discount of £24.20
    Total:- £50.84, I do have Cinemagic at £5.00 also = 55.84.

Looked at prices with Sky, and no special half price deals or the likes it still had me around £10.00 cheaper per month.

Did phone Virgin to try and cut the caller display (which is free with Sky) and lower the Unlimited Calls (work all during the day, so what's the point) but was told if I did this I'd lose discounts and it'd increase.

So now a bit peeved and wondering just to switch.

Only one wee problem is losing all my saved stuff on Virgin box, but guess I could watch then change over. And the other one, which the wife has said is putting a dish on our house. Although she has left it to me to decide.

Do you not feel that, with the current climate, there should some soul searching in relation to doing business with the Murdochs?

How much luck have people had negotiating with BT?

    At the moment i'm on-
Phone Line- Unlimited evening and weekend (and line rental)- £16.90
    Broadband- Total option 3- £25.60
    TV- BT Vision Bronze- £12.50

Having a look round, I can see similar packages from Talk Talk and sky for much cheaper!

I was contacted by BT at the start of the year as they were withdrawing the BT vision package I was on and I was offered my total broadband otption 3 for £9.99 a month if I renewed my contract for this at the same time, so it might be worth ringing them to see if they can do anything if you extend your contract.

The current climate has a lot of people in the gutter, I'm trying to save money here and there, if that means going to Sky, then so be it.

I'm not big on the newsfront so I can't even begin to comment in all the goings-on with these phone tappings.

A lot of innocent people are/were employed by the likes of NOTW, Sky etc so while I hear of this and that about Murdoch, there are a lot of other people who can't be forgotten too.

Made enquiries about joining sky today.
Am in an area where i have to have Broadband connect so to summarise i'd be getting.

Sky plus tv with News & Events, Knowledge & Variety Packs
    Broadband Connect
    Talk Freetime (eve/w-end calls free)

    for £43.75

Does this seem reasonable - average??

seems quite pricey - if you have the phone, you should get basic broadband for free.

I would have thought about £32

Sure when I priced it I got it to almost £40.

    That was for:-

unlimited broadband (not a huge speed though) 20mb? I think
    free w/end and evening calls
sky+ with I think it was 1 or two packs.

Sure it came to £39.75 if I remember right and then I was going to add Cinemagic at £5 extra.

If you were to get it at the £32 as said, I'm sure that would be the limited broadband account.

    Hi,
We are looking at making some reductions to our outgoings. I've just checked my statement - we have been with Virgin for about 10 year. I think I might be paying too much, what do you think?

    Line Rental £12.99
    Talk Unlimited £8.00
    TV XL £26.00
    2 Additional V boxes £30.00
    BB L £26.00
    Triple Loyalty Discount -£21.20
    Additional box discount -£17.00
    Total £64.79

    Thanks Dassad

That's great, I tried to switch over to a smaller package the L Phone, but was told mine's would go upto £59 or something.

Really think I'll just cancel, the only way they'll save me from leaving is if they chop a decent bit off.

I've been with them in the house since I moved in 10 years ago, so it's there call.

If they don't cut around £10.00 off then I'm offski.
