They'll have to do better than that ;)

It's quite funny, other customers are complaining because they've had "loads" of calls from Sky, I got just the one on my home phone when I was at work and they've never bothered again since! :rotfl:
I'm frantically trying to watch everything on my Sky+ box before it goes off in two weeks' time!
Same ,here. Mine goes off tomorrow.

I got the questionnaire email and one call, a few days after cancelling, but I was in hospital overnight and my husband took the call explaining where I was and suggesting they ring back on the Saturday, but they didn't and there is no offer on my My Sky.

    Hey chaps

Got a fairly decent deal with Sky on the TV six weeks ish back.

Time for BB and Line Rental

Anyone give me some pointers for what to ask.

Was on FREE BB last year and Line Rental Up Front.

  • So it's that time of year again to 'cancel' sky. I cancelled it all (tv, BB, Phone) on Monday, only to get an email through saying tv was cancelled but they are glad we decided to keep BB and phone. So I thought I'd try the online chat to see what I could do. I asked for a mac code and explained I'd seen a great deal with EE so was going to swap. After several offers I asked I him to have 'one last check' for me and he offered me free line rental, and £2.50 off BB when/if my tv is turned off, so it's £7.50 for 12 months instead of £25.40! Just waiting for an offer on tv now

Well I've had my tv offer. I initially got offered 50% off with a new contract but I declined as I didn't want to be tied in. I got another call offering me 50% off with no contract. I pushed for 60% but she said it wasn't available but I was happy with 50% off. That saves me an extra £33 a month. So for my tv, unlimited BB and phone it's costing me £40.50 a month in stead of £88.90, a saving of £580.80 over a year.
  • Just spent 40 minutes on the phone to sky to try and reduce my bill from £92.90 and at first they offered nothing and just suggested removing parts of the package to save money. Moved on to the cancellation department and after several quite poor offers the agant went away to his manager and came back and offered £59.90 on an 18 month contract.

I declined this offer and that was it no more on the table so I have cancelled in the hope I get an offer through the post. Was looking for at least £40 off and hopefully halving the cost. Will update if I get any offers through the post now I have cancelled.

The 35% offer is still showing for me on My Sky.
Apart from the missed call almost 3 weeks ago, and the questionnaire, absolutely nothing else from them.
But fair enough - I'll be £67 a month better off without it.
Just going crazy trying to watch everything in my planner before it gets cut off! :rotfl:

Did they call you from that number? Glad you got what you wanted, they're not interested in my money though :rotfl:

They seem to give you a phone call about 3 or 4 days after you've called to cancel, judging from my experience and other comments here.
    Let us know what happens.

Yes it was from the 0800 number. I'm sure you'll get something soon. Did you make it clear it was purely down to cost?

Yes, quite clear it was down to cost.
Will wait and see, although I think it goes off one day next week.

    Hung up my suit!
I've only got Sky BB and am leaving the UK for a few months. I was going to cancel and then restart maybe with them or another provider when I'm back next year.

Does anybody think if I explain to them that I won't be using the service for a few months that they may allow me a free period while away ?
