My sister has Virgin but they're not impressed as it doesn't seem to have a great choice of channels, not even UKGold!
To be honest, Virgin's TV is not very far behind Sky in terms of the number of channels available (with the notable exception of Sky Atlantic).0 -

My neighbour had several missed calls to his landline from that number in the couple of weeks after he cancelled Sky. Eventually they called when he was at home, he answered and was offered 35% discount during the call, which he accepted and received a letter welcomng him back within a few days. I had a missed call from that number a few days after cancelling, asked my neighbour and he confirmed it was the number Sky had called him from.
You could block the number if you're worried that it's not genuine. I suppose it's possible that it's a 'blanket' number used by several marketing/telesales organisations, not just Sky.0 -
They'll probably sent you a 50% off flyer as an early christmas present......
They'll have to do better than that
It's quite funny, other customers are complaining because they've had "loads" of calls from Sky, I got just the one on my home phone when I was at work and they've never bothered again since! :rotfl:
I'm frantically trying to watch everything on my Sky+ box before it goes off in two weeks' time!0 -

...same here -still haven't had a phone call and the 35% off for a year is still showing on MySky - about 20 hours of recorded stuff to watch PLUS stuff we are aiming to record by 26th -if no offers before then we will deffo have square eyes !:rotfl:0 -

Thanks again. I've since been told by 2 Sky advisors on the phone that it might be Sky and another on the forum link I shared that it was a Sky number. Just waiting until I can speak to them now. Interesting one of the Sky advisors I spoke to asking about the number did offer me 50% off for 12 months with a new contract but I declined. He had told me earlier in the conversation he wasn't from the win back team, so I know he doesn't hold all the cards! I'm holding out for 60% or at the least 50% without a new contract.0 -
Rang Virgin today (150). Got passed through 3 people. Ended up with BB-only discount £16.50 instead of £26.50.

Rang sky today as my 50% offer had finished and asked for any deals after two hours I got offered my package which is every channel in HD with all sports only thing I don't have is movies I have unlimited broadband and phone calls. Before my call my bill had gone to £81 after much bargaining they offered 50% off everything I said nope I'll cancel so he said one last try he contacted the back office and knocked 6,99 off line rental my bill now is £37 for everything call me greedy but moral of the story is bagin hard. Anyone who is looking to grab a deal my advice is play hardball.0

So after reading through about reducing the monthly costs of our subscription, I gave it a go. After having a quick look on what competitors were offering for the same package, I called SKY and asked them to reduce our monthly cost in line with what was being offered.
They first said they can cut it by £5/month, but I asked for a better deal as we were loyal customers having been with them for over 8 years and would prefer to stay with them.
They then offered me a £40 (50%) reduction for the next month, and then a £20/month reduction going forwards (half price multiroom x2, and sky sports/movies for £24 total).0 -
Are people still receiving the letters with 25% off etc?0

Every week for the past months I have been receiving 'come back for 50% off' letters. The phone calls have started again as well.0
