Had you cancelled it? How long ago?
Did you have to push for that deal or did they just come straight out and offer it?0 -
Sooo..... bit the bullet they played hardball with me for 90 minutes only offered me 10% discount. Here's hoping they give me a call!! I don't really want to cancel.0

So it's that time of year again to 'cancel' sky. I cancelled it all (tv, BB, Phone) on Monday, only to get an email through saying tv was cancelled but they are glad we decided to keep BB and phone. So I thought I'd try the online chat to see what I could do. I asked for a mac code and explained I'd seen a great deal with EE so was going to swap. After several offers I asked I him to have 'one last check' for me and he offered me free line rental, and £2.50 off BB when/if my tv is turned off, so it's £7.50 for 12 months instead of £25.40! Just waiting for an offer on tv now. I've had several missed calls from 0800 915 9081, which Google suggests is either Sky or a scam pretending to be Sky. Can anyone confirm if this is a legit Sky number?0

Another Sky customer has confirmed they have also been given the upfront line rental too. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0

Has anyone cancelled Sky and then received a questionnaire by email about why you cancelled and which competitor you've chosen instead?
I got one the other day. It seems they're not going to try to persuade me stay and do accept that I'm gone.0 -
I've been a customer of Sky's for 7 years and still got an old box. I've just rung to try and get a new box with all the internet capability but they said it would cost £60 and there was no negociation. If I were to cancel, I'd have to wait a year before I can re-join Sky and get the new box.
I really don't want to give them anymore business but are there any decent alternatives? My sister has Virgin but they're not impressed as it doesn't seem to have a great choice of channels, not even UKGold!0 -
They'll probably sent you a 50% off flyer as an early christmas present......Has anyone cancelled Sky and then received a questionnaire by email about why you cancelled and which competitor you've chosen instead?

I just phoned Sky to switch to EE before their offer ends for broadband and phone line rental. I asked for my MAC code and got through to the cancellations department. Had a chat, explained I'd been with them for years and had been having problems with my router. I'd rang them only to be told I had to buy a new router for £70 as the original one (8 years old) is out of warranty.
Told them I therefore wanted to leave as I felt loyalty wasn't rewarded and also because there are some great deals out there at the moment that knock the socks of Sky.
Ended up getting 12 months prepaid line rental for £144, with free unlimited broadband for 12 months (worth £120) and a free router (worth £70).
Really pleased I haggled and would recommend it to everyone.:hello:On mortgage pay off countdown. Less than 8 years to go. :j Won £50 Amazon voucher for filling in a survey, £100 shopping voucher, £20 Odeon voucher, £20 bowling voucher :T Doing a £2 terramundi jar challenge but everyone else seems to have the same challenge as there don't seem to be many £2 coins around!:p0
