Called Sky to cancel on Friday. It's a tv only package, including Movies and Sport, no HD/3D, and £61 a month.
They offered me 10% discount :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:on the phone, if I decided to stay.
Checked My Sky about 10 mins after call and they were offering 35% not to cancel.
I'm not bothered if it does have to go, but will be interested to see what other offers (if any) are made and will update here0 -
Called Sky today cancelled TV package, offered discount on BB but not on TV family package no sports, or movies, 31 days until council telly.
Fingers and toes crossed for some tasty offers.
Planning to switch BB to talktalk as well.0 -
I cancelled two weeks ago and have had no offers.
The person I cancelled with made no attempt to keep me and was mean about any bb/phone offer, too (though I gather tv are not the best retentions for these offers).
I had one call, while in hospital and , though my husband told them when I'd be available, the only contact since has been the emailed survey. There's nothing on My Sky.
No problem, as I don't even need to consider going back and am about to dust the Humax.0 -

It's interesting how differently they treat their customers.
I went through on the normal number and pressed 1 to cancel per the instructions. I was on hold for nearly 10 minutes. The person I eventually spoke to was quite persuasive, went off the line a couple of times to 'try to get me a better deal'.
I was quite suprised as I expected the same response as you got.

I tried to cancel Sky on the chat today but was told I had to call.
Called to cancel and was offered 35% off all 3 services, but I declined.
Made my mind up about going back to VM anyway.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

Got a 10 pound monthly discount for Virgin Media cable internet 60Mb (31.50 to 21.50) by calling, asking for MAC, and telling them about the Relish broadband for 20 pounds monthly. Thanks for the great advice!0

Woohoo!! So I have had a few missed calls from a number I suspected was Sky since last week. Finally the loyalty/winback team rang at a time I could speak. Success! In fact even better than last year which was my first year with them. Was paying £57 last year for Full TV (inc sports, movies and HD), broadband and line rental...told them to cancel everything last week as was increasing to £97 per month. They initially offered me 35% today which I declined. They then gave me 50% off TV. I requested 50% off line rental too and they said they couldn't do that but offered me £100 statement credit without me even asking! Taking into consideration the credit, that means my monthly payments come to around £45 per month!
Over the moon! Thanks for your support guys!
Following on from the above - I got cut off this weekend! Apparently the offer had not gone through on their system even though they could see it should have been applied. Was offered £30 for the inconvenience and that TV was activated straight away but phone and broadband would take up to 2 weeks. Told them it was their error and £30 was an insult. After a little bit of negotiating, managed to get an additional £200 credit on the account!0 -
I'm currently paying £85 pm for 1 Sky+ HD box, 2 multi room with HD, line rental and bb. I don't need the second multi room box anymore as my new flatmate doesn't watch TV at all. I think it's too much to ask her to pay for something she's not using and I can't afford to pay £65 a month (which is the TV part and my half of the line rental/bb) for 3 boxes when I really only need 1.
Anyone had any offers when downgrading?“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A.
