Thanks for the advice but the line rental upfront payment is true, only one department can offer it. They take the payment from you upfront but when you look at your bill you will be charged £15.40 a month but then on the second line it's refunded and marked down as a discount. They did the same last year.

That was the way things were done, last year, when up front payment was offered, but shortly after it was discontinued, at the end of last year, someone on here was offered upfront, but then had the large payment refunded, saying it was taken in error.

Any recent experience from anyone who is with VM? Most of the deals quoted seem to be with sky.

I rang up today looking for discount and ended up cancelling. Wonder what I might be offered, if anything? Currently, have TV M, 30 meg broadband, sports and movies and a couple of phone things and paying £84ish.

    Many thanks.

I will keep you posted if that happens. Iif it does I won't be happy, as all telephone calls are recorded and they stopped me from leaving buy cutting my fibre which is a low down dirty trick.

Just called up Sky as was nearing the end of my broadband contract. They are no longer letting you pay the line rental up front for a year, but they offered me completely free unlimited broadband for 12 months, with just the BT line rental to pay per month. I don't take Sky TV and they knocked off the £2.50 supplement too.

Pretty good deal I thought, so I went for another 12 month contract which will cost about £180 for the year. Was tempted by the EE offer but have found Sky broadband to be ultra reliable and fast with no traffic shaping, so I'm happy to stay.

OP above has paid line rental up front. I queried the situation on the Sky forum, but there is no reply.
  • I just phoned Sky to cancel my TV, Broadband and Line rental because of a broadband and line rental offer with EE for £168 a year. My sky was costing nearly £45 a month so about £540 a year with Sky tv included. I told Sky the EE offer was too good to pass up and I would sacrifice my basic Sky TV package for the offer as EE were also offering £120 Amazon voucher off moneysavingexpert.com. They offered me a deal to keep all three services for £30 a month for another tie in contract for 12months. Seeing as I didn't actually want to move and lose Sky TV, this is a success at nearly 33% off! That's £180 saving for the next 12 months. Happy:T:T

Had you cancelled it? How long ago?
Did you have to push for that deal or did they just come straight out and offer it?

Yes I can confirm I have paid my line rental upfront and it was given to me via the Broadband and talk department.
