I just rang Sky, as I was concerned that the original call centre person said they don't need a month's notice for broadband/phone; just 14 days'.
I was told that this is correct, but this one would not budge on the best possible bb/phone offer of £20.40, given reluctantly by the other, after saying I would not be made an offer. (This will, of course go up soon).
I mentioned that the other person denied offers being made for people to stay and he said that the policy is not to offer anything on tv for people who left O2 and took the free tv/bb for a year offer.
Bluffing or plain liars. I don't know.
I don't care about tv and was planning to go to Tesco (using cashback) for the internet etc, but find that you can't get line rental saver, until you've been with them a year, which makes them much less competitive and they do charge £2 for caller display.
A package, including anytime calls and caller display, so far turns out at works out at £19.95 (instead of the assume £14.05, with saver) from Tesco and £19.02 from PlusNet.
I was so hoping for free line rental, which some on here have had but Sky denies, saying they made it up, which would have meant £15.50, including calls... and with a very good offer, I may have eventually taken tv again0 -

Hi,
My son is moving into his new house soon, he has asked me to look into getting sky for his tv,
I rang yesterday and the best they offered for a new customer was £39 a month for verity pack, sky sports pack and hd pack, told them way to much, we are only paying £23 for the same package, so I am going to try again later today, my question is, will I be better calling them again or using the live chat? the girl I spoke to yesterday was useless she had only been there a week,
Thanks all0 -

I doubt you will be able to get any discount as a new customer 'just because' as they will only offer the new customer offers as per their site.0 -
Just seen an email sent yesterday, stating 60% off and £100 credit. Looks like its for Sky TV but HD is £5.25pm but no deals on multiroom.
A chap rang on Wed saying he could do it for £40pm plus 2 months free.
Dont want to pay more than £30pm max as fiances are getting tight. Thinking of not even bothering with Sky TV as i've been without it for a while already and not really missing it, except for the odd footie game.
Anyone know if it'll get any cheaper? Anyone received 75% off deals lately?0 -
According to my conversation with retentions, yesterday, the deals don't exist and people on her are making things up. (LOL)0

In a roundabout way,I was told that this wouldn't work.
I mentioned that I would call, at the weekend, when I have 31 days of minimum term left (phone and bb, installed after tv) and was told not to bother, as there's no point and no chance of an improved deal; just instruct Tesco or whichever provider I choose, to just take over. (I now know that I only have to give 14 days' notice for phone/bb).0 -
My own personal experience and others in the thread suggest otherwise.
You can change your mind about cancelling right up to the switch off day so what have you got to lose?0 -
