I know this isn't TV linked but hopefully this will make sense.

TV/phone/net disconnected last month, returned to the TV two days later because of the banner advert on mysky.

I've placed an order with EE for phone/net as it was cheaper but the whole process has been messed up at their end and I really feel like just cancelling the order now and going back to Sky and seeing what kind of deal that they can offer.

My question is how best to approach this? Is there a specific team to speak to now I'm not technically a customer for phone/net but I am for TV or would it be best to still speak to retentions?

Thanks. Maybe i misunderstood. I think they said that when the one month notice is applied it removes the number from the active number register and cannot then be transferred to another provider.

If moving to Virgin I'm not sure if they can use the same numbers anyway so not a big deal but they gave the impression that as my number not on the register that it could get allocated to another line during the notice period. I took from this that if I changed my mind in 2 weeks or so that I would not be able to stay with sky on the same number.

You are obliged to give 1 months notice if you wish to withdraw a service. You have paid upfront for that month, so, have already purchased the service, which, SKY are now obliged to provide.

Best thing to do is arrange your new provider BEFORE cancelling, & let them do the migration for you.

Been with Sky for 3y. Was paying about £118 ppm. That was for their full package (all the packs + movies + sport) in HD on 2 TV's as well as phone and broadband.

Just phoned to cancel the TV sub just to see if I could live without.

I was offered 50% off for 6 months on the TV sub.

Tempted but stuck to my guns. Just letting you know what I was offered.

Feeling numb a bit. Not sure I will cope with no sky but its an experiment.

i'm in a similar situation (but been with them 16 years, not that that seems to count for anything), just checked what will be due for this month & it's now over £113.00. That's an increase of about £30 p/mth as we had a deal on fibre that ended a couple of months ago now & i think the latest price increase is included in this month?

can i ask if you're in a cabled area/other services available? we aren't, so i'm wary of going down the cancellation route as nothing else similar available (& they're obviously aware of it!).

Perhaps none as you are now crawling back to them but you might hit it lucky.

You don't really get a choice of who you speak to. You can only phone up and see what happens.

My Sky+ HD box is faulty after 18 months. Got told I need to pay a £65 service charge to fix it. :(

Rang up to cancel (so I could sign my OH up as a new customer after) but they offered a £30 fee and £10 off my bill for the next 12 months. Whilst it means I'm locked into a 12 month contract I'm happy enough, engineer coming Friday instead of in 2-3 weeks which were the only options I was getting online for new customer.

I think I'm a pushover compared to you lot on here, but happy with my teeny saving nonetheless!

Good job you did, Sky contracts are per address not per named person, you wouldn't have been able to cancel and sign up straight away...

I assume they didn't give you a discount on the HD sub? I have a simialr discount and package as you but my bill comes out a bit cheaper. Did they do a full price breakdown for you?

in SE London, but unfortunately I don't think the street is cabled. I'm gonna look for a better BB/phone package. Honestly it's a lot of money to pay for something that I don't have much time for. Kid's are out of control watching tat all the time. I just feel our house would benefit from a bit more interpersonal interaction and a bit less crap telly. As I said, its an experiment.
