Firstly you will have to give your 30 days notice and ensure the cancellation is on the account. next give it a couple days go on the online web chat and state you had a call from the win back team and that you want to know whats its all about. you will get the usual blah blah from CS Rep tell then your not interested and ask to be transferred or given a number where a human picks up. they will either transfer you online to retention or will not entertain the idea and say some one will call back if no is available there and then.
if you do manage to get through to retention's say you annoyed with constant calls and CS reps and Sky. hopefully they will then be able to give you 50%. from what the retention's guy said on they can give 50% + and i think its mainly on packages so they may not give it to you for multiroom. as for credit, if you given a discount state that you have messed about too much by sky if there is anything they can do for the wastage of time spent online with sky and then haggle if they can offer the credit on top of the discount. just be confident and polite and straight to the point.0 -

Thanks for that - we're not out of the 30 days yet - actually only one week in but in the last 3 days we have literally had 9 calls from the 0800 number! I thought he was really going to be willing to do the deal -
Nevermind, we'll hang out for the better deal - I asked for free line rental since you get free BB with sky sports but he said no - had he done that Id have taken the offer......
We will wait and see!0 -

So as a completely new customer just over a year ago I signed upto to 12 month sky contract with sports/movies/hd and extra room
Family with Sports & Movies was £62 -
with a Viewing Subscription Discounted of £31 so was paying £31
Then extra room £11.25
So for 12 months I paid £42.25 a month = £507
The offer has now ended and im now paying
Family with Sports & Movies was £62
Then extra room £11.25
Total of £73.25 a month = £879
£372 difference eek
So I rang up and they offered 2 deals
with everything that I currently have £65.12 (x12 = 781.44 a year)
or get rid of movies £58.00 a month (x12 = 696 a year)
Are these good deals. If im honest im not a massive TV but house mates and family/visitors have got used to it, and it can be convenient.
Has anyone had any good deals recently to give me an idea of how far I can push after being with sky for a year?
Where they really make the money of me is renting movies as I do that more than anything.
Would love to hear from anyone with advise please
(sorry for all the math, not needed I know near the end of the week. Oh and I forgot to add the £4 increase a month coming in September which is another £48 a year0 -
No I understand that, but you can always try and haggle some more.0

Be extremely careful. You are at grave risk of falling into Sky's notorious "Elephant Trap".
The 50% discounted deal to which you signed up is what Sky calls your "package". If you had opted for the HD pack (discounted or otherwise) from the outset of your deal, the HD pack would have been included in your "package". But you did not. And, buried deep in the tiny print of the Terms & Conditions of your discount deal is a short but lethal sentence which states that if you change your package your discount will cease with immediate effect.
Sky, moreover, never budges on its requirement that upgrading to the HD pack locks you into your contract for a further year.
So, if you upgrade to the HD pack now, or later, you will have "changed your package": you will lose your 50% discount immediately and be locked into your contract, at full price, for the following 12 months.
Golden Rule – Never change your package in any way when you are on a discounted deal: it would lose you your discount.
I added the family pack to my 1/2 price deal and it was included in my deal. Moreover I've downgraded and upgraded a few times since I've been on the offer and its never effected the 1/2 price offer. I've been on 1/2 price for around 3 years and made many changes without my offer being effected. I know many who have done the same so I'm not sure where you're getting this from.
One of the benifits sky mentions when u get 1/2 price is the ability to add more channel and still get 1/2 price. I'm not saying they never take away deals but it isn't the norm. Just make sure to always ask if downgrading or upgrading will effect any offers you have. I downgraded sky sports and lost my free BB. I called them up once I realised and got them to put the deal back on(I had to take SS again).0 -

all depends on how willing you are to play the cancellation game with them.
you maybe (i state with caution) able to get 50% + off from you family, sport + Movies package but you would need to cancel your sky account and see if they give you call from their win back team.
at the moment from what you have written they are not really offering you a proper discount in my eyes. they are just downgrading you and give 10% off. if you think its ok then fine but its all down to what you think its ok for you and if you ok with cancelling sky and perhaps going to someone else0 -

I don't think it works like that, they can only offer you what they have for your situation. but you cannot determine the discount.
Example: i may have gotten a better deal should i have had LL & BB with them but i didn't plus i do not have sports or movies. So i am aware not all discounts would be viable for me as i have compared to many a very simple small package so they can be limited to what they offer.
also you have to be prepared for disconnection and look at alternatives should your discounts you wished for to not materialize.
Good luck0
