It will be a little less per month if you pay the line rental in advance for the year. The basic tv and BB costs me £14/month. (I had to pay £25 for Tivo installation as it was a new service for me)

Just come to the end of my contract.

Was paying £39 per month for:

    XL TV Package
    M Telephone
    XL Broadband 60MB
    2 * TIVO boxes
    Superhub 2

I paid the line rental in advance last year.

As I managed to get one of the Sky 25 months for £25 deals a couple of months back, I didn't really need the TV package. So armed with the Sky offering 2 years free broadband for just the £15.99 line rental I went in with a decent bargaining chip.

It actually worked out £1.50 more to remove the 2 Tivo boxes and TV package, than keep 1 Tivo and reduce the package to M TV (61 channels).

I paid £144 advance line rental and now I have:

XL Broadband 60MB (Due to be upgraded to 100MB in October)
    M TV Package
    M Telephone
    1 * Tivo
    1 * Superhub 2

Paying £20 per month (after £144 advance line rental). 12 month contract.

Also paying Sky £25 per month for their full everything TV.

Got a call. They offered 12 months half price Family including HD (£16pm)

I accepted and also haggled for a £45 bill credit

    I'm happy.

    Saga continues.

I placed an order with TalkTalk to take over my broadband and line rental from Sky. Last night, after I agreed a deal for my TV, I received an e-mail from Sky saying my cancellation had, in fact, been cancelled. But TalkTalk had already given me a new line with a new number. My Sky broadband was still working. Confused.

So - today I cancelled my order with TalkTalk. And Sky gave me £9.99 line rental and free broadband for 12 months. Which is nice.

I just posted this in the "Virgin Media Retentions" thread in the Broadband forum before seeing this thread, so apologies if you read it twice!

I think I just negotiated a pretty good deal. I'm currently on XL TV, 60Mb Broadband and basic phone (Talk weekends) for £68.50ish. I called to cancel on the 1st July, and declined a couple of offers as I was going to go with Plusnet and freesat to save money due to having had a recent reduction in income.
On the 4th, I received a call offering me basic phone and 50Mb broadband for £5 if I pay the line rental saver price of £144 upfront (altogether, the equivalent of £17 pm), or I could have the basic TV (M) and keep both my Tivo and V+ boxes for an additional £12 (the equivalent of £24 pm). I said I'd think on it and discuss it with my partner.
They rang me again yesterday and I asked them what they could do for M+ TV. They said £20. I haggled this down to £15, and he said I could have a new Tivo box to replace my V+.

So I have agreed to 50Mb broadband, M+ TV and basic phone with a new Tivo box to replace my V+ box and keeping my current Tivo box, plus a new Superhub2 for £15pm on top of line rental which when paid upfront works out to be the equivalent of £27 pm. Starts Monday.

I'm fairly happy with that, but can't help wondering if I should've waited or pushed for better.

    Thoughts?

Normal non-fibre. My cabinet has not been upgraded but I get 16-18mb anyway and its only me there so I'm happy with it.

Previous posts would indicate it is.
