Our service ended friday night although i have actually removed my sky box a week ago and replaced it with freesat.
My two daughters have been visiting this weekend and after having a play with the freesat box they too are now going to cancel Sky.
They have looked at what i have watched and recorded in that week and realised that there is a lot of excellent free television that they are missing out on.
Goodbye Sky
Any recommendations on a decent FreeSat box that can record (series link) please?A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -

Humax Freesat +Freetime boxes are usually considered the best. You can get Manager's Specials as well as new.

4 days before my 30 days is up, sky customer 9 years, never cancelled before....not had a single phone call !!! was on HD, Variety and multiroom, also have BB and phone with them. Only offer I have had is at time of cancellation they offered I think 10%.......hope I haven't made an !!! of myself ....going to see it through see what happens...BB and phone still in 12 months so they are not on cancellation.......lets hope they phone quick !
So Skys now cut off, no phone calls, no emails, no offers !!!
Whole house is in uproar  looks like i've dropped a clanger.....
Not sure how long i can fend the angry bears off before i have to go grovelling back to Sky.0 -

Should have made sure that the broadband, at least, was still live - perhaps with another provider. Then you would have had phone calls, e-mail and the web.0 -
netflix and lovefilm 30 day free trials should stem the anger if you havent already got them, you can also try now tv for a 30 day free trial as well, runnning in tandem with the freesat channels should give more than enough contentDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -

My requirements are Unlimited Fibre Broadband, basic TV, from any provider and recordable BT Sports for the UFC,
Currently have Sky which I have now cancelled. I had a discounted deal for:
Standard Sky Tv
Line rental (which I don't need)
Basic ADSL bradband unlimited speeds of up to 3 Mbps lol
My discounted deal was £31.99 per month plus a desperate sub to BT Sport £12.
£42.99 total.
12 month contract has just expired and the Sky package alone was increasing to £49.99.
My options are slightly complicated in that we do not have Virgin installed to the property and we also do not have a TV aerial installed which makes Now TV and BT packages awkward.
Sky offered £38.80 for first 6 months and £48.80 for remaining 6 months on Sky chat retentions last night for fibre BB and basic TV. But I declined as would still require separate subscription to BT Sport which would take the total to £60.80 per month thereafter.
Virgin with XL Tv to ensure BT Sports is included, with lowest BB is £60 we you include the mandatory line rental.
BT is cheapest but requires a TV aerial for the freeview channels. Arg!!
It's just too much!! Dilemma.0 -
