So Skys now cut off, no phone calls, no emails, no offers !!!

Whole house is in uproar  looks like i've dropped a clanger.....

Not sure how long i can fend the angry bears off before i have to go grovelling back to Sky.

Wazza, Have you checked your 'mysky' when I cancelled, about an hour after it went off there was a 50% off banner on mysky when I logged in.

The other trick I've used a couple of times is, ring up and say you had a missed call from them earlier and wondered if they were calling to make you an offer.

Anyone know of any codes or vouchers to get BT sports for around 1/2 price without having any BT/plusnet products? I have everything with sky and would like BT sport when the new season starts but don't really feel its value at £12/15.

There are no deals when you sign up BUT if you sign up then wait a month and then call BT to cancel they will offer you a deal.

You can do this as it is only a 30 day rolling contract for non BT Broadband customers.

BT Sport is BTs long term plan and they will offer you a good deal to keep it.

Been with sky for 20 years and just been told our package is going up £4 to £71. I'm tempted to cancel and see if we get any offers after 30 days, but would we loose everything in our planner?

I won't be deleted but you will no longer have access to it. You'll be able to watch them once you subscribe again. I don't see any harm in cancelling and seeing what you can get. Seems 60% + £50 cerdit is being handed out lately so give it a go but I imagine you're more likely to get 50% off if you follow through.

I had two missed calls from Sky last week. I called them last Friday and asked "why were you trying to contact me?"

She said there was no record of any call being made on my account. She made me feel I had lost my mind!

Basic tv & tivo, landline with free weekend calls, 50 mb bb with their super hub 2 = £29.99.

I genuinely wanted to cancel as:
    their wifi is crap.
calls on their phone are too expensive (except at weekends)
    their tv interface is dire.

but ... would anyone else be any better for this price?

will they go lower or chuck any extras in for me?

Just thought I'd feedback on my switch to Virgin for any that are interested, after 15 years with Sky I have ended up on Virgin, see last few posts here. Sky weren't prepared to give me much of a deal, I think I spoke to them too many times so they didn't think I would leave.

Now on Virgin a month and I have to say a lot of my fears about their service -poor customer service, not as good a picture, unreliable BB, are all gone, the install was one of the best I've seen, no young kid knowing nothing (my last Sky Dish install) where I had to put the dish up myself to stop them destroying the house with a drill it didn't look like he knew how to use. 2 very professional guys turned up, covers on their shoes, very polite and helpful, explained everything and made sure it was all working before they left. I now get 159Mbs ! and over 12Mbs upload and a ping of 30ms.

I work from home and have to upload large files occasionally for work , the difference is amazing, now all the family can be online with no worries even for gaming and downloading films at the same time!
For the occasion I've spoken to Virgin they have been nothing more that really friendly, I had to change the first Tivo box as it had a hi pitched noise (I'm fussy) , guy came round in 2 days and swapped it full of apologies. The Tivo box software is a bit clunky compared to Sky but it does way more than our Sky box did & we are slowly getting used to it, the HD picture on my 50" Plasma is lovely.

So far I am so glad I didn't take any offer from Sky, we have no fibre option here so the hi speed BB is an awesome extra for a family , and the TV service works great so far. I don't think Sky were ever bad and I really wanted to stay with them because of all the rumours I had read about Virgin, but with such a good deal on cashback, refer a freind, discounted 1Tb upgrade, 6 months free Netflix and money off I thought it was worth a try, we could always cancel in the first month, but now I'm more than happy we did.
I found out you can pay for line rental upfront (thanks MSE) , which brings it down to £12 per month, so now my bill is only 25 per month - happy days..
Interestingly Sky have been phoning all last weekend, but I haven't time to talk to them:), but no matter what Sky offer until Openreach install fibre down out street I won't go back, def the best service for us so far.

Does this offer include line rental or is it seperate?
