  • These calls happened to one of my friends after they cancelled with sky as well... not sure why suspect you can report it.

Just sound like spam calls unrelated to the Sky cancellation. Who would you report it to?

Handed in my notice on 30th June for the 1st time in 14 years. I have the Variety with Sports, Movies and 1 Multiroom. Told Sky its no longer value for money. They didn't try to keep me on probably because they think I am a blagger! For past 3/4 years I have managed to get 25%, 15% and 10% but that was without actually cancelling! So far I have rejected two offers of 35%. Holding out for 50% at the very least! Sky goes off on 1st July but after reading this great informative forum I am not panicking! I know the deal is coming just gotta play that game!
  • I got a deal today of £31.15 for Sky entertainment, BB unlimited, phone 24/7 (anytime UK) and line rental.

    I'm really pleased with that.

I had to cancel TV and negotiate with numerous people at various times trying to get a deal that suited me. My TV had actually expired and they still weren't that keen to keep me. You need to get the right person with the right attitude to actually help you which I did today.

The majority will cancel your contract without caring so keep trying I suggest.

my family pack goes off at midnight tonight .I phoned sky because my broadband wasn't working and they offered me a 50% reduction on my TV package which is the same deal they offered me last month when I gave notice to cancel .I said no thanks.

  • I'll be handing in my 31 days notice again, all the sky broadband adverts state price is currently £7.50 and on the my sky page it states sky subscriptions will increase on 01.09.14 by upto 10% so just cant be bothered with these yearly price increases any more.

I called and cancelled my Sky unlimited BB and Variety pack on 2nd June. It was costing me £45 a month. At that time, the offered me various options but no less than £30 a month.

I have realised I won't miss the Variety pack as I only use it for the Discovery channels and, even then, quite rarely.

Today signed up with EE unlimited BB which, after the upfront line rental and Amazon voucher, is costing me less than £4 a month all in - beat that Murdoch.....

Have any current existing customer recently managed to get the 2TB box for £49 by just upgrading to the family pack? I have a standard HD box but don't subscribe to the HD pack and they don't wanna come down from £300 which is a crazy price to pay just for more space. I'm already on 50% off so Cancelling isn't really an option.
  • I bought one of those NOW TV boxes to try it out. £10 by post and then £5 per month for ten pay TV channels (the best ones really).

I really like it. Loads of catch-up TV I can watch when I like, BBC iPlayer, 4OD etc. Many services have no adverts. (I also have DVD by post rental service.)

So I cancelled my Sky. I have an 8 year old white box, no special features, they were charging £25.50 a month. I noticed that you can have a Sky+ box with catch-up TV for £27 per month, so lots of extras for just £1.50 a month extra. The basic white box service has been going up every year and is poor value for money now. They just rely on people's inertia in not changing, it's only worth £15 a month, £20 a month at the most in my opinion now.

When I cancelled they said they might be able to do a deal but I said I bet you can't go down to £5 a month like NOW TV and she said "no". Now I am getting marketing calls from Sky every day, I haven't actually answered one yet...
