Sky have just offered me via email 50% off (valid until 26th June) not to leave.
They wanted me to take advantage of their Family Package, which comes with a 12 month contract. Erm, no!
Next up was their Variety package, 31 day contract. OK, I'll take the variety with movies, sports with HD and multiroom.
I'm sorry but you cannot have HD without the family package...
Then shove it0 -

I currently am on 75% discount with £100 credit. Switched back on on boxing day.
Had reason to phone sky for mother in law today.
She has tv only and 1 multiscreen. Pretty basic package (variety) costing over £36 a month.
She is going fairly doolaly and from what I can see only views channels available via freesat.
The sky was originally commissioned due to awful aerial signal so the sat dish is handy.
Anyway a genuine cancelation is the order of the day and that is what I told the young man on the phone. Told him not to waste time putting a deal together as I thought he would have little to play with anyway (Having told him my discounts).
I declined his eventual offer cos this is a genuine cancel but just for info he offered the basic "original bundle" for £10 a month for a new 12 month contract. I believe that is currently £21.50 a month.
So interestingly 1st line advisor could offer a well over 50% saving on the basics. Ps he wanted £14 for the "variety bundle", which is just shy of 50%.0 -
My current contract runs out in July, I was on a 50% deal which was due to expire. I rang up yesterday to cancel, they put me through their retentions (or whatever it is they call it), asked why I wanted to cancel and just went through with the cancellation.
There was no attempt to even offer me anything, the girl on the phone just said, without me even prompting her, "we don't offer that discount anymore" and went silent. I didn't even ask for the same discount again, I didn't even mention discount full stop. She seemed happy to just cancel my contract.
Good luck to anyone else who is after a 50% discount or more, it looks as though my Sky will be going without any attempt to even keep me! I still have 30 more days to enjoy it, although I am sure I will survive without it, it is just a bit disappointing to see so many other people getting really good deals as existing customers yet Sky didn't offer me a single thing.0 -
They still do discounts, you just have to wait for it to land on the mat after its switched off.0

as posted on here a few days ago i cancelled our sky contract nearly two weeks ago as we are struggling financially at the minute have the full tv package only. we have been with them for a few years with no offers previously. when i called to cancel they did not try to convince me to stay and i received the letter to confirm the cut off date.
hadn't heard anything at all until a phone call today, got 50% off the package for a year, really pleased0 -
I'm currently on a 50% off TV deal and saw the new Sky Sports 5 deal i.e. free broadband for 2 years. However, I wasn't keen on signing up to a further 12 month TV contract, which is part of the new offer. My 50% Tv deal ends in January 2015.
In view of this, I rang Sky and said that I wished to cancel my Broadband & telephone. I was immediately offered free broadband for a year, on a 12 month contract - no TV tie-in required. Seems like a pretty good deal, so I signed up. :beer:0 -
I cancelled a week ago - ever since they keep phoning then not answering when I do. I get four seconds of call centre then nothing. Baffling.0
