The will stay there but are not watchable.0 -
I decided last Sunday to transfer everything from sky to bt.
ON Monday morning i received 2 texts saying that my phone and broadband services were transferring to another supplier.
On Monday afternoon i called sky to give notice on my tv.
The lady i spoke to offered me no deals on anything, she just kept telling me how good sky was.
On Thursday evening i received a call from sky to say they were sorry i was leaving and that they could offer me 35% of my tv package.
I politely told him i was not interested.0 -
Doing this for a family member tomorrow, if they don't offer 50% off tv/phone/broadband and a new BB router then they're gone. I hate sky as an ISP anyway, don't let you use your own router, charge loads extra for unlimited downloads etc.
If there's no 50% off then I'll leave, join Talktalk for isp with Topcashback and new customer offer, and sky just TV in their partners name with topcashback.0 -

Charge loads extra than which ISP for unlimited downloads?
I am happy with Sky broadband currently, unlimited downloads, but no doubt will be shopping around for offers in a couple of months when my contract term is ended.0 -

Is unlimited not standard for Sky then?
Edit: Just had a look at the Sky site. They do a 'Lite' broadband that has a 2GB download limit but you can only get that if you have a TV package, and it doesn't cost anything.
All their regular broadband offerings are unlimited it seems.
I haven't had any issues with my Sky broadband, but I appreciate people have different views. For example I had huge problems when I was with Orange, yet my parents were with them for years and never had a single issue. Swings and roundabouts I suppose!0 -
Hi everyone, I am thinking about going back to Sky. They sent me a letter with a 50% 6 month discount if i come back to them. I'm on Freeview at the moment. I still hae the Dish on the back of my house as i previously had Sky a couple of yrs ago. But they still try to charge me a £25 set-up-fee. Is there a way round this, as i don't think they will have to do much to reconnect me. I really don't want to pay the fee if i can avoid it.
Thanks for your anticipated help guys.

Have you tried negotiating on live chat/the phone with them about it? I take it that as you had Sky up until a couple of years ago it was Sky+, so they wouldn't need to visit to re-cable?0 -

Yeah we had SKY HD for ages, and then we went to Virgin Tivo. I haven't phoned or live chatted yet, closed now. But it seems a lot for very little required work i would have thought,0 -
It's probably just a blanket term to cover themselves in case they need to do any work. I wouldn't have thought it would be that difficult for you to negotiate it as you say they won't need to do much to reconnect you.0
