Just spoke to the "I want to leave" department of sky. A quick chat and I agreed to their 25% discount for 12 months. Better deals may be out there but I will try harder next time - promise :o

    Get on the phone guys.
You cracked too soon. Should have let them turn it off ;)

I got cut off a week ago and still no calls or offer on my account. just says to call them.

I am wondering if nothing is showing due to me having a 50% discount last year?

any ideas, shall i call them? I am off on holiday next week so wonder if i should just leave it all until i am back?

    thanks

OK, just called Sky to ask exactly what the price will go up to after my contract ends:

    £32 Family pack
    £7.50 Broadband
    £5.00 Sky Talk
    £15.90 Line Rental

Total cost of £59.90  (Consider that we were on the 'O2' offer!!)

What sort of price should we be holding out for? We don't mind paying line rental up front and signing another 12 month contract if the deal is a good one.

Only reason to stick with Sky is the missus likes Sky 1 and the kids like the kids channels.

Line rental up front has been discontinued since the end of last year.

If you look through the thread you will see that people have had discounts of 25-75% applied to their package.

Is that to the whole package or just selected parts of it?

I called to cancel on the 28th April, I was told at the time they could not offer any money off due to the TV package being price frozen with a £3 reduction?? I was told this twice by different operators.

Cancelled anyway but no offers or calls since. Has anybody else with a price freeze had this? (Been with sky 5yrs)

It depends. Generally there is a % off the TV and then free line rental and/or discounted broadband on top.
  • I used to have a sky package with no sport or movies, just the family pack with HD but I also had phone and fibre broadband so you could say I had the full package. As my fibre broadband deal was coming to an end, I decided to completely cancel sky last August and went with talktalk on a superb deal. It was a bit tiresome cancelling Sky but I stood my ground and 2 weeks later got a call offering the full package for 1/2 price, naturally I declined then the guy straight away said I could have it for nothing for 6 months! When the 6 months was up I again cancelled but just tonight received an email saying I could have the full tv package for 50% off for 12 months.
I got in touch with them via the web chat thing and after stalling a bit, managed to get the discount up to 60% for 12 months.
That's £30.05/month for full package including movies, Sports, 3D and HD saving me £400 over the 12 months.
Talktalk youview is good but just doesn't come close to Sky so I'll be packing it away for 12 months at least!

Does this mean you switched to TT and then decided to return to Sky 2 weeks later?

If so, didn't you have to break your TT contract and pay them a penalty for termination 2 weeks into (presumably) a 52 week contract?
