All of them, unlimited downloads is standard for basically all of them bar sky. I just find them a terrible ISP, rip off equipment charges, lock you out from using your own. Rubbish.

There are many ISPs that charge extra for unlimited downloads but Sky isn't one of them. As already said they do have a Lite version with only a 2gb limit but that isn't their standard BB. Standard BB is unlimited downloads and with no traffic management unlike many others.

What equipment charges? When I joined Sky BB I was sent a router free of charge. I've also since got a wireless booster free of charge.

As to using your own router, Sky don't stop you doing this. They just don't support your own router which is the same for many ISPs.

I still hae the Dish on the back of my house as i previously had Sky a couple of yrs ago. But they still try to charge me a £25 set-up-fee. Is there a way round this, as i don't think they will have to do much to reconnect me. I really don't want to pay the fee if i can avoid it.
Thanks for your anticipated help guys.

Self install would be around £15 so you would only be saving about £10. Much better to get it all checked out and guaranteed for that amount. Your dish may well have moved in the last couple of years.
  • Hello,

Another success story, just managed to get 50% off tv for 12 months.

So i cancelled my tv subscription at the beginning of May and my 31 days notice would cut off my service on 2 June. I was going to wait for the win back offer to appear after I was cut off and take up the 50% offer.

However, I got an email from Living Social offering 50% off for new sky tv subscribers and I thought I'd try my luck and speak to sky about it. Went to the live chat and got told to call the 08442 414141 number. After an initial conversation I got put thought to the win back team and explained what I had received. Really helpful chap said "yes, I'm eligible for the 50% offer and what package would I like?". After no more than 5 minutes I'd got the Family pack for £16 a month.

I was getting worried after I had initially cancelled as I hadn't heard anything from sky but really pleased I followed through after their initial 10% offer when I cancelled.

Thanks to everyone on here for the advice on getting cheaper sky!

Now to find out how to get money off my internet.

If you don't like Sky fair enough but don't post rubbish like the above.

Just been offered Sky Family pack with HD and Movies, free install and 500GB wireless Sky+ for £17.25 a month for 12 months. He says that is 75% off.

They were calling as we have broadband and phone and have not ever had TV with them. Is this a decent deal?

If you want all that stuff for £17.50 a month then yes. 75% is about as good as you can get.

I've not checked Sky Deals before...I know that the 50% crop up every so often, but wasn't sure if that was a legit deal in terms of saving especially as all the packs are different now.

My concern is after 12 months they won't do a decent deal...but I'll cross that boat when it comes to it.

Hardly anything to worry about, just cancel in twelve months time and go back to whatever way you previously watched TV.

True...we'll see how much we use it. We know we would never pay full price and even 50% off is a bit too much still knowing we would want the films but that offer is a little irresistible.

Just spoke to the "I want to leave" department of sky. A quick chat and I agreed to their 25% discount for 12 months. Better deals may be out there but I will try harder next time - promise :o

    Get on the phone guys.
