From cut-off date it was only 6 days. There was a message on 'my account' saying come back and we'll give you 50% discount. I then went 'on-line' for about 20-30 minutes. I'd said a friend got 75% and they said that was not possible. I said to ask their supervisor and after consulting the supervisor I was offered 75%.
Please note: They will take £5 (credited on first bill) from your credit card.
Let me know the outcome
Best of luck Luck Foxy 38
Will do! i keep checking my account for any offers but just says they can't display and to call them. I will give it a few more days.

I'm sure this only happens with customers who don't have a Direct debit.
The blue font you are using is hard to read.
Yes they don't have your c/c details.
£5 is taken out for another term of the 'contract'.0 -
How he worked it out was I picked a package I wanted, I think it was entertainment extra, he said "I can do that for £16" I said how long will I have that at that price he said "12 months"
Which means the discount would be applied to your account for 12 months if you had said yes. It did not mean that the offer would be available for you to opt in to for the next 12 months.0 -
some great advice on this thread. Came on here because I'm coming to the end of the 50% off deal I got through this site last year.
I'll add my story to help any others...
Contract due to expire 7th June
7th May Rang Sky to give 30 days notice of Cancellation of Phone, Broadband and TV. Politely turned down a 10% discount on TV for further 12 months. On the phone for 15 minutes or so but firmly and politely explained that I needed to save money and had no problem going back to freeview and relying on my mobile for internet.
8th May Rang Sky to say I'd found a good Broadband deal with EE (unlimited BB for £2 a month, £132 line rental up front and £120 amazon voucher) and could I have a MAC code. They explained they couldnt give a MAC code because my account had notice of cancellation on it but they'd put me on hold and see if if they could match EE's offer. Came back a few minutes later and offered Free Broadband for 12 months and a £1.40 discount on Line Rental. To save the hassle of changing providers I accepted that, re-signed for BB and left my TV Cancelled.
9th May Received an (obviously belated) email off sky saying sorry you're leaving our Broadband if you stay we'll give you free line rental for 12 months. Rang sky to complain that this was a better deal than the one I'd been offered yesterday and she said no problem we'll apply that to the account too! So now got Free Broadband and Free Line Rental for 12 months. My Monthly charge is just the £2.50 supplement they charge for having Broadband without TV. Obviously this will be removed if I take TV again.
Going to let my tv run down now and see if any offers transpire, will update my post after.0 -
Cancelled the full package last week - had a call today offering 35% discount - I said this wasn't enough. I also said I wasn't happy as new customers get great discounts to which she replied that new customers only get discounts for the basic package. I disagreed as I got a 50% off code which applied to the full package when I joined. At that point she sad never mind then there's nothing she can do and put the phone down on me!
To be fair I'm quite happy to go ahead and cancel even if it does mean going through a bit of hassle to swap provider for phone, bband and tv0 -
Am on a package with Virgin
Paying £62 per month plus cheaper call charges , on average pay £88 per month, this is for:
L package
£5 extra cheap mobile cage the add on
Broadband and landline phone.
We don't have any movie sports or TiVo box, and seems to be a lot to pay out for what I think is a basic package. I rang virgin didn't get discount only offers to upgrade to better channels at a so called offer and would be paying £81 plus calls. Not very impressed so looking what's out there. Does anyone know what deals are best for TV prob family channels tv and landline phone , cud do with a better offer!
Thanks

Just given 30 day notice, will see if I get the 50% offer others have had. I was told on the phone this has expired when I said one of the reasons I was happy to cancel now, but not sure I believed it. Said if it was there I might take it, if not I might go to BT.
Anyway question for those who cancelled their tv packs - did you lose all the programmes saved on the skybox? Or do they stay, but aren't watchable unless you have the right subscription?0
