So I have since found this email they were on about. At what point does it mention another 12 month contract?Hello xxxx
So that’s it. Your Sky TV is up and running.
What you do now is entirely up to you, but it’s well worth checking out My Sky when you get a few spare minutes.
There's so much going on at My Sky
To discover more about your package, like how to use Sky Go and On Demand at no extra cost, or to find answers to any questions you may have, simply go to
My Sky (Just sign in with your Sky iD username: xxx). You'll then be able to manage your account and discover how to get the most from your Sky - so it’s well worth having a look around.

The content will still be there but you wont be able to access it without a subscription TV package.
Thank you - will make sure we have viewed anything REALLY important before Monday - still have the last few Sherlocks on the planner so better make sure we have watched them! Thanks again!0 -
Hello
After more than 10 years of paying top prices for Sky I have cancelled and Sky will be switched off on Monday 5. If I am offered the win back deal I will take it but otherwise will let the service go as can't justify £67 per month. My question is will we lose all the content recorded on the planner if I go through with the cancellation? If I rejoin will it still be there? If it's going to be lost guess we better spend the weekend in from of the TV!
Thank you for advice
I gave notice & refused the offers. I called them the day before it was due to be switched off & they offered 50% off TV (was paying £57). Took this offer for 12 months.0 -
Ok not to happy about this, I got a come back to Sky offer in Jan when I logged into my Sky, it didn't tell me what offer but I phoned up, they said I could get 50% discount, great I thought, I enquired how long I'd have this offer, 12 months I was told. I phoned up just now to cancel as we never watch Sky only to be told I am stuck in contract again. I asked why this was never mentioned and got told "Ah you would of been told" I am 100% sure it was never mentioned. Is this the norm? Is it even legal?
So was that 12 months half price or the half price offer would be available to choose during 12 months?0 -

TBH it was easy. Just said I was due to be cut off but that I had received an e mail saying there were offers available to stay. She asked what package I wanted & I said if I was staying I would want to keep sports. She asked if I wanted a new box & I said yes if there was a deal. She then straight away offered the 50% for 12 months. She then said I could have a new box for 'free' (£15 postage) which wildly be wireless & give I demand etc. I said I would have it.
Good luck.0 -
Thank you for this - I have been waiting all day for the service to be switched off but still working atm so I guess it will happen tomorrow now. Thank you again.0

Quick question. If I am out of contract (by years!) do I need to give them 30 days notice or can they cancel straight away? I have had sky+ forever. Never had an upgraded hd box and paid over £50 for entertainment extra with sport, every month for 14 years and tbh the only reason I contacted them was because my neighbours have built next door and my dish needs moving. Haven't had a signal since Friday and they wanted to charge me for an engineer visit and to upgrade wanted me to pay £5 more and give me a free hd box. I think they have taken the mick for far too long. (My fault as I have let them!)
They then came down to £41 just with sport not movies and a free engineer visit. I still don't think this is good enough and tbh could definitely live without sky. I suppose my question is can I cancel instantly because I don't want to pay for a month with no signal! Help!0
