Just noticed lots of people saying they got "the 50% offer"..I was under the impression that the best offer from Sky was currently 60% off?

Can anyone confirm that the 60% offer has been withdrawn? If so I don't think I'll continue with Sky TBH.

No it's not been withdrawn - if you read what I wrote above, "50% off" is the default offer if you let your services lapse - you aren't guaranteed to get the offer but most people do if they see cancellation through.

If you want a better deal, you're gonna have to get your negotiation hat on and speak to them or use online chat - that's how I got my 60% off deal.

As you are planning to move the phone/broadband to another provider anyway then you might as well until May 10 then give them a call and cancel everything.

Move the phone and BB to a new provider then see what sky offer on the TV side.

    Thank you.

If I tell them I'm moving it to a different provider and the TV by itself is currently too expensive, is that probably the best 'excuse' to get a discount?

Its as good a reason as any. They will probably offer you 10% off there and then and wait to see if you still want to proceed cancel.

If the new provider (I assume Virgin) is genuinely cheaper then have the numbers to hand so you can show that the 10% isnt enough (assuming the new provider is 10% cheaper).

Well I currently have the "family" pack I think it's called now, used to be Ent. Extra+ and Sports+Movies. That alone when it goes back to full price is around £62, plus £50/month for 152mb/unl. calls with virgin, over £110/month is rediculous.

Was going to get Chromecast and just use Netflix for what I want to watch. I wasn't going to buy any TV from anyone.

Tell them that then. Its a more genuine reason than many people use and shows you are serious about moving to a competitor having compared prices/ availability, etc.

The worst they can do is say 'ok then' and start the clock ticking but even then you will get a couple of phone calls to tempt you to stay after you have put in the cancellation request.

Cancelled Sky last month, and today the channels were stopped. Logged on to MySky earlier and had 50% offer, but negotiated this to 60%. Now paying £22 for complete TV bundle rather than £67 I use to pay.
