I think once you are out of the initial 1 year term you are on a rolling '1 month' basis - same as mobile phone contracts - so you still have to give them notice that you want to cancel.

Easiest way is to call them up and ask then explain why and see what they say then.

TBH it was easy. Just said I was due to be cut off but that I had received an e mail saying there were offers available to stay. She asked what package I wanted & I said if I was staying I would want to keep sports. She asked if I wanted a new box & I said yes if there was a deal. She then straight away offered the 50% for 12 months. She then said I could have a new box for 'free' (£15 postage) which wildly be wireless & give I demand etc. I said I would have it.

    Good luck.

I went onto live help and asked what the best offer was for a returning customer (8 years since) After much haggling, was told 25% discount was the best they could do. :rotfl:

got disconnected saturday called up today (sunday) offered 50% off and not much else, did online chat and instead got 60% off everthing except for HD pack wich he discounted by 50% instead.

    so i now have

    family pack
    HD pack
    Sky sports pack
    sky movies pack
    all for £30.05 per month

Hi - can I ask if you had the 50% offer showing in your MySky account? My service was due to be disconnected yesterday but service is still there. I have read other posts saying that the 50% offer appears in MySky when the service has been disconnected. So far my account just says that it is unable to show offers and I should ring to discuss offers. I would rather have an offer in MySky than ring and be told that I am not eligible for an offer.
Grateful if you could advise if you had the offer in writing before making the call - thank you.

It didn't show until after disconnection and even then I had to refresh the page a couple of times and possibly login and logout again to see it. I was away for 48 hours after disconnection over the bank holiday weekend anyway so not sure about whatever it would of showed immediately after disconnection or after a period of time.

My advice would be don't commit to any offer until you are happy with what you've got and they are sneaky - they never seem to offer hd - so be clear from the outset that you need hd. As said previously the online chat seems to be best.

    Mine went like this.....

    Online chat.....

Me- hi I've been offered 50% off to return to sky but I have a friend who was offered 75% and I want that.
Sky- sadly we don't offer 75% at the moment but I'd be delighted to help you with 60% ......

And then the negotiations continued til I got what I want.

I even pulled him at the end when he quoted 35.05 as the monthly payment and I was like "hey! You said 30.05!"

So be careful they are sneaky!

    Quite!

I was adamant I would not have another 12 month contract (despite the normal rule that HD=new contract) so I kept reiterating "no contract" - the summary I got provided did not mention "no contract" but I've got a copy of the chat transcript saved for future reference.

Top tip: Make sure you spell out what you expect in the chat and then save the transcript somewhere safe!!

I have just come out of a 12 month 50% off deal with HD sports, Entertainment & also have phone and BB with Sky.

I have gone through cancellations (have had tv turned off) and been cut off yesterday but not had any offers or phone calls.

Do you think it's likely i can secure another deal like 50% before having just finished a deal. I have been with Sky for 4 years now.

    thanks

Cancelled Sky last month, and today the channels were stopped. Logged on to MySky earlier and had 50% offer, but negotiated this to 60%. Now paying £22 for complete TV bundle rather than £67 I use to pay.

Wow thats great, where abouts were the offers? I see offers under the upgrade menu of My Sky or should it be on the main musky homepage page?
Been with Sky 15 years and am paying £86 a month, dun now what the packages are but It says get
Variety inc movies, Sky HD and Sky Go extra.
I have canceled the TV, I wasn’t sure about cancelling the phone & broadband, Sly Said Virgin will take it over so no need to cancel.

I’d really like 50% but I presume thats only for the TV? they gave me 50% off telephone before and I think we had a discount of the TV. They have phoned twice and not really offered anything I said I was going to Virgin, which I have been looking at as they have a good deal on at the mo. But I’d rather stay with Sky..
should I ring them or try online chat?

I’ve also successfully gone back to Sky.
I mentioned that as I could not afford it I reluctantly had to leave Sky.
I‘ve now re-taken entertainment extra + pack + sports pack with HD pack
    The cost:
    £54 a month - 75% off for 12 months = £13.50 + £5.25 for HD pack (no discount)
    Total £18.75 pm

Did you get an offer on your online a/c or phone call from them? or call up yourself?

How long did you leave it after disconnection?

    Thanks for your help!

From cut-off date it was only 6 days. There was a message on 'my account' saying come back and we'll give you 50% discount. I then went 'on-line' for about 20-30 minutes. I'd said a friend got 75% and they said that was not possible. I said to ask their supervisor and after consulting the supervisor I was offered 75%.
Please note: They will take £5 (credited on first bill) from your credit card.
    Let me know the outcome
Best of luck Luck Foxy 38
