So are they not giving any deals on multiroom at all?0

hi there, I was wanting to try to haggle a better deal (6 or 12 months half price) on my sky tv package by threatening to leave. only problem is, I just this morning upgraded my broadband pack with them. so I cant just threaten to leave altogether. would it work to just say I want to cancel just the sky tv part, and if so, any suggestions of what you'd say to them on the phone?0

It may be possible if the OP only agreed a new minimum term on the broadband. The TV contract is separate.
But why they didn't negotiate the whole thing in one call somewhat escapes me.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

The OP will have to check the details of their account on MySky

I'm currently a Sky customer on their 'ex-o2' package. Free entertainment plus TV, free broadband and "anytime" phone package all for £22 per month, or thereabouts.
It comes to an end late May, I think.
Are there any current deals that come close?0 -

Me too. I'm hoping they can offer something cheap or I'll go broadband only.0 -
As posted a couple of weeks ago, I cancelled sky after calling to discuss reducing my bill. (From 99 per month). I've been with sky some 8 years and only had one discount in this time. When I called, the team offered me £58 which I politely declined.
Call on the 6th April from the sky team, and a 20 min call with an initial offer of £60 then £51.15. I agreed to the second deal, told no tie in at all.
This morning I had an email indicating ongoing bill would be £67, so I called to query. Advised there was no deal from Sunday on my account below £67, which was never even discussed! I asked them to reinstate my cancellation date, which they refused to do, and told me to make a request by email. I have done, and have received a response which ignores most of my complaint and still does not reinstate my cancellation. I am incensed, and although i have called again there is no one who seems in any way able to resolve this for me. I'm astounded as I really expected better. I'll be calling again tomorrow to cancel. Really disappointed. So, please check any deals you are offered, as the call seems to mean nothing to sky. They refuse to listen to the call, by the way.0 -
Hi everyone,
We have had Sky TV for years and year on year the price keep going up.. At the moment we pay £67.5 just for the TV! But my OH wants Sky Sports and movies and HD and God knows what else so we carry on..
A friend told me that they cancelled the TV and then the partner signed up as a new customer and got the half price deal..
Unfortunately we are not partners with different names.. we are husband and wife with the same name.. Could it still be worth trying?
I am thinking if we called up trying to cancel (we also want to change phone and broadband so could do it all at once), they might offer us a discount or if they disconnect, then I could sign up in my name..
Any idea whether that would work? Would they refuse the new customer offer on the basis of the same surname do you think?
Friend says his friends also did it with no problems (with same surname), but.. I was just wondering if anyone else has experience?
Thanks0 -
I just called them to try and get a better deal, and all they offered was that I could cancel subscription, wait 12 months, then take our a new one on a better deal!Debt-free...and staying that way...0
