I have got a 12 month deal and I think that you are only tied in for 12 months if you take the HD pack, but I'm happy with that for £20.75 a month
Thank Lisa..
So did you have no phone and internet for 10 days??0 -

With my bill now in excess of £100 a month and fed up of seeing brilliant deals for new customers, i've just phoned sky to see what they can offer to help me out.
I had to deal with a fella called paul who was aggressive & rude; interrogating me over and over with the same questions for 20 minutes despite me giving the same answers for 20 minutes!
the best they offered was a half price multi room @ £5.63 ( we have the full package and 3 multi rooms - we are also customers from the 80's, with myself holding the contract for the last 7 years). he also kept saying offers available to existing customers change all the time, try calling back in a week or two and see what we have. So i asked him what they've had in the past and he couldn't tell me anything at all :-/
the call became increasingly frustrating and aggressive interrogation, talking over me and not listen to my answers, insisting that i will never get sky's channels cheaper elsewhere from paul so in the end i handed in the notice (which took me another 5 minutes of insisting to get thro his talking).
i'm actually really disappointed in the customer service from sky.
So my question is, what now? will i be contacted by a different retentions department or do i need to start making alternative plans? or if i call back once i've received the confirmation letter, will they offer me a better deal?0 -
Skyla - I think the unwritten rule is to quit as soon as you know the opearative isnt going to do you any favours, and just call back another time. Im not sure if they note on your account each time you ring ?
You do have a 30 day cancellation period, so they may call you within that time to offer some sort of deal , but it seems the really big offers are for people who have left. I guess thats true for many business to be fair.0 -
success! Decided honesty was the best policy so i rang the number on my home page and said i knew someone who had been offered 75% off and could they check if i was eligible. Expected to be offered 50% but guy checked my account and said yes straight away!
The cards on the table approach just worked for me too, previously I've always had discounts and cancelled each time to get them then had long conversations bartering for increased discounts, this time it was done and dusted in 15 mins from dialling the number to hanging up with the services back on.
I rang the 08442 411914 number from hot deals and said that I'd had the 50% off flyer (which is true) but it wasn't affordable for me and could I have 75% off.
The lovely lady said the only offer was 50% off so I was just honest and said it wasn't affordable and I would only rejoin if I could have 75%.
She put me on hold for a minute or too then came back and said she would do the 75% off for the next 12 months no contract.
So now have sky sports, movies and entertainment extra for £14.25. This is on top of the existing free broadband and half price telephone.
All in all it's £21.95.0 -
Just rang sky and said I had the 50% offer on My Sky but could I have 75%. Got it no problem for 12 months. Have also switched my fibre broadband from BT to Sky for £7.50 a month for 6 months0

After a month of being switched off, logged back into my Sky account today to see the "Come back to us today and get 50% off" message.
Decided that I am going to ignore it and hold out for the 75% off..... not missing it, in fact actually getting some DIY done at home instead of falling asleep on the sofa every night watching the football....A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
Really chuffed for all peeps getting 75% off - what a result.
Any advice for those of us who dont want to be without Sky right now ?
Whats the best deal anybody can expect to get at the moment for existing Sky subscribers?
Im happy to 'cancel' , but dont want to be without it at this point in time - as Im sure many others dont.
And apologies for asking again, but can you get multiple deals still - eg discount offf TV and broadband
Thanks for any advice - Im hyped up to call them today !0 -

Cancel, wait the 30 days and on the 30th day wait until you box goes off and them call them they will give you the 75% off. I thought we were supposed to be cut off on the 21st but it was the 18th found put when I checked online and it said I wasn't a customer, called straight away and they gave the discount there and then no questions asked....only wish I had asked for multi room and a new box as we'll :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
