Does anyone know what current line rental deals sky are offering. I currently have a deal with them which runs out on Wednesday, intend ringing up this week but would be good to have some figures before i do.

The guy I spoke to during cancellation said that 50% off was the best offer they have, which is obviously wrong, so they're either misinformed or being disingenuous as part of their persuasion to get you to stay.

Or perhaps all they actually have is up to max 50% thus there is no misinformation on the agents behalf. Dont you think that if there was an option for them to give you 75% they would.. lets face it the agents obviously have a targeted number of customers to keep... would be silly for them not to give you it .
  • Are people getting money off the HD pack price as well? I thought they won't budge on the £5.25 a month for that.

He was not talking specifically about me but in general. There are definitely people out there with 75% off, thus he was wrong.
  • You have to cancel to get the 75% off if you are lucky and maybe if you haven't gad a discount before they may offer 50% off when you call and request to cancel however offers have been 25 to 35% and no more 75 was easy to get just follow what was said on the hotukdeals link and they will give it to you.

You need to get past the retention team, one you cancel with and on to the win back team one who can give 75% or even more.

Full packages including sports, movies and hd, full sky and box sets for 19 to 22 and no 12 month contract and if you want you can cancel dw the sports etc at a later date.

Go for it just call and wait till your package is cancelled call again and pay less!!!!!
  • Cant be bother come on its easy don't have to haggle.

Call the number quoted on here, say you got a flyer and ask them to put you through. Works with no questions and saves a fortune

OK So I rang earlier and went to cancellations and said I had the 75% come back letter. They were fine with that, no haggling required, and set up

    Entertainment Extra + (Usually £32 but 75% = £8)
    Sports (Usually £22 but 75% = £5.50)
Sports HD upgrade (Standard price £5.25)

Because I have added the HD upgrades it is a 12 month contract but at that price I am happy with a total of £18.75 a month.

If you want HD channels and the extras included in Entertainment Extra Plus (Box sets, 3D ) it is well worth the extra £1.25 a month providing you get the 75% discount. I could have had Entertainment Extra + for just £8 a month but I quite like watching sports.

Another call from the winback team offering me 35% off my current package with no contract. Declined it.

They did confirm I'm still getting free line rental and 50% off my broadband for the next 12 months and again didn't change this when I said I still wanted to cancel.

So I guess the only place they can go from here before my contract ends is offer me 50%? Then if I wait a little longer after I get cut off, 75% right?

Reckon it's worth a blast if I get a 50% letter to try for the 75%?!

just call them and say you got the letter for 75%
  • just call them and say you got the letter for 75%

But VivaPayne still has Sky. You need to get cut off first otherwise you won't 'receive' the letter.

I've still got a couple of weeks before I get cut off, so there's time yet for the 50% letter to arrive. Could be worth giving it a go when I've got that perhaps, presuming that the system would show a letter's been sent out, and then pretending that potentially I've been sent the wrong letter by accident?

The whole way through I've just maintained that there's no real incentive for me keeping sky as we don't really watch it enough to justify the cost. He did ask me today if there was anything they could do to get me to stay and I said no. Who knows, may get another call from them in the next couple of weeks!
