I don't recommend such a pretence…operators can only give you what's available to you personally.

Tel them you have the flyer and can't call 0845 numbers from your phone, if you were already cancelled they will put you through.

Viva sorry read your comment incorrectly, will need to wait till your cancelation us done, once that happens don't worry about not getting the letter.

    Fair shout both.

Still got a couple of weeks until disconnection. Making the other half realise the box will get wiped when the contract is up isn't stopping her from loading it up with crap after crap that she won't get chance to watch!

The hard drive isn't wiped at all, so your wife can continue to record what she pleases. When your account is closed, the recording facilities are merely disabled, with all your recordings remaining intact and still watchable should you re-activate your subscription in the future.

Ahhhh ok then! Thanks for that. I was under the impression they wiped all that stuff too. I may load up on a few bits then whilst I can!

I asked this before but got no replies, so sorry for asking again..

I want to reduce my costs to Sky, but I cannot cancel the Broadband or Phone as I need it for work, as I work from home a few times a week and the best way to get a 50%/75% off is by actually going through with the cancellation, I am unable to do this.

Is there any way I can get a decent discount from them?

My Sky service was disconnected on 13th March, on Sunday 23rd March I had the 'come back to sky with 50% off for 12 months' message on the Sky homepage. I rang the 0844 number given and told the Sky staff member that I had the 50% off message but that one of my work colleagues had just re-connected with 75% off and asked if they could match that offer. She would only offer 50% off and gave me details of the prices, I said that I would speak to my husband and call back.

I rang back 5 minutes later and told the Sky staff member the same as before. He put me on hold and then came back and said that I could have the 75% off deal. I now have sky entertainment extra +, sky movies and sports with HD for £20.75 per month (plus £11.25 for multiroom) for the next 12 months :)
