I want to reduce my costs to Sky, but I cannot cancel the Broadband or Phone as I need it for work, as I work from home a few times a week and the best way to get a 50%/75% off is by actually going through with the cancellation, I am unable to do this.
Is there any way I can get a decent discount from them?
Tony
I'm cancelling my TV package but staying with Sky for phone and broadband as they're seperate products. I've already been offered 35% off my current TV package and I've not even been disconnected yet. From my experience this time around, you just need to state clearly that it's just your TV you're wishing to cancel.0 -
Just phoned sky to see what they can do about my £100 bill (I have everything except multiroom). Lovely phone call offering free broadband (10.50) on a renewed 12 month contract, and 25% off the tv costs. This only reduced to £76 ish, so I declined. (I think his maths were a bit off or the 25% had some exclusions).
So discounts are available on first call now, they weren't last time I cancelled. If I wasn't pregnant and really looking to save I might have accepted. Hoping for a call before the 31 days run out.0 -
I signed up for Virgin Media and had it installed 13 days ago but dont really like it - too many button presses to do things - cant record from on demand - takes too long to do what you want compared to Sky box.
So remembered I have 28 day cooling off period with Virgin Media.
My Sky TV was cut off on 12th March, but my telephone (there was an issue with the original cancellation) didnt get cut off until yesterday. So I checked my Sky account today and had the 50% off TV if you come back offer. Saw on HUKD people reporting success claiming they had received the 75% leaflet, so tried that out.
Said I had received a leaflet offering 75% off TV and movies, he says no problem and its all gone through OK.
Telephone & broadband will be active next week (not sure why as only cut off yesterday) so need to wait until next week to cancel with VM.
He then says I am getting a new BB hub, with free delivery, free telephone line setup, and free broadband for 24 months on top.
Happy days :money:0 -
success! Decided honesty was the best policy so i rang the number on my home page and said i knew someone who had been offered 75% off and could they check if i was eligible. Expected to be offered 50% but guy checked my account and said yes straight away!0

I’ve also successfully gone back to Sky.
I mentioned that as I could not afford it I reluctantly had to leave Sky.
I‘ve now re-taken entertainment extra + pack + sports pack with HD pack
The cost:
£54 a month - 75% off for 12 months = £13.50 + £5.25 for HD pack (no discount)
Total £18.75 pm0 -
It is weird how they're so reluctant to offer a discount on the cheapest part of the subscription.
Anyway, got my cancellation confirmation letter in the post. Will only rejoin before August if it's 75% off with a minimum contract, otherwise no point rejoining until the football starts.0 -

I've just been offered exactly the same deal + paid another £2pm for movies. My Sky online account showed 50% discount on offer, just had to say a friend had been offered 75% discount, he checked my account and said I qualified for the deal too! :beer:0 -
Hi guys , great thread.
Can you still get more than one offer on your account eg 50% off TV package and half proce broadband ?
I know they used to , as Ive had multiple deals running at the same time in the past, but when Ive called them recently they said I couldnt have any other offers as I had some rubbish half price broadband offer.
Im an existing Sky subscriber, and happy to go thru the 'Im going to cancel' scenario, but dont want to cancel this time for the football season !0 -

I rang the 0844 number given and told the Sky staff member that I had the 50% off message but that one of my work colleagues had just re-connected with 75% off and asked if they could match that offer. She would only offer 50% off and gave me details of the prices, I said that I would speak to my husband and call back.
I rang back 5 minutes later and told the Sky staff member the same as before. He put me on hold and then came back and said that I could have the 75% off deal. I now have sky entertainment extra +, sky movies and sports with HD for £20.75 per month (plus £11.25 for multiroom) for the next 12 months
I called sky 2 days ago to cancel my TV package and just keep the phone and broadband as i was on a 12 month half price deal that expired and i can no longer afford to keep it.
when i cancelled the TV i was not offered any great deals to stay. Do i need to cancel my whole sky service and move to another provider in order to receive a 50-75% deal? and if so wont i be tied in to a 12 month contract with another provider? i was looking at plus net and there is a 12 month contract so i would not be able to move back to sky!
thanks for your advice!
