I tend to keep on top of my stuff, it's the other half that will have a fit if she loses everything. She's at home too much anyway so she can catch up on everything.
Thanks for the tip!0 -
Those deals DO come to people who don't actually have to go through with cancellation, too
The best deal is actually getting the hd box AND 75% off. Rare, but it is given.
I would challenge that as have a 75% discount & £100 credit to my account offer. They phoned me.
NB Although I am back I still get the come back to Sky flyers monthly.0 -
Our tv was switched off on Sunday. We still have phone and bb but I'm holding out for better than the 35% off my tv package I was offered during the notice period.0

There doesn't seem much logic behind who gets which offers and when. My TV package of 25 years, with sport and movies, went off Feb 3rd. This was all at full price apart from a 6 month 50% off deal 5 years ago. I would have imagined that I'd be up there on the list of priorities as someone they'd try to entice back. I heard nothing during the notice period, and have just received a first offer of 25% off from a posted mailshot. (I have all the marketing preferences ticked).
As it happens, I've bought a Youview box and a Netflix subscription which is great. Just not missing Sky at all. I'd have to think hard about whether to even accept 75% off if the offer came.Nice to save.0 -

Yes, I'd take that as the better deal. The supposed RRP price of the HD box is more but I'd rather the straight-up credit you got.0 -
I cancelled in January being disconnected in February. I received a call while in my 31 days cancellation period for 35% discount, which I asked the lady to call me back but she never did.I had Sky for just 1 year on the Basic Entertainment Package and joined using an MSE discount 50% code so had half price for the first year something they couldn't do when I rang to cancel. However, I was missing Sky and
this Saturday I received a phone call from Sky offering 50% off and a £50 bill credit to come back on the Entertainment Extra + Package. We needed the Entertainment Extra + Package as when we joined we got box sets but they were removed in April which upset us quiet a bit. Anyway I told her I would think about it and could she give me a call back. I also received yesterday a Sky leaflet in the post offering 50% off for a year but no mention of any bill credit. After speaking to my son we agreed to go ahead, but I had seen threads online that sky were offering 75% off so tonight I first called Sky's customer service number to take up the 50% off and £50 bill credit offer. I went through to retentions of which I explained the situation they looked at the notes on my account and said that no notes of any offers were on there and that only that lady I spoke to could apply that deal as it is not available to the general public, but did see a call back was scheduled which I knew about. Anyway after hanging up I decided to ring the number on the leaflet (a 08442 premium number!) that came in the post it put me through to a guy without selecting any options only asking for my home phone number I told him about what the woman on Saturday offered me but also said a friend of mine was offered 75% discount and was this something available to me. He said he would be able to do what the woman offered me but wasn't sure about 75% as it apparently varies customer to customer. He put me on hold after 2 mins he came back and cheerfully said I can do that for you and so now I have the Entertainment Extra Plus Package normally £32P/M for only £8P/M, Something I am Very Happy About. Well Done Sky! I am a Very Happy Customer !0 -
For those who don't have a 50% off code, try the following...
I went to the Sky website and just opened the live chat and said I wanted the 50% off deal.
The customer service rep then sent me a link which then had the 50% deal setup in my basket. I'm getting mine installed next weekend.

My advice if you're on unlimited broadband is to buy a Now TV box (£10), sign up to the 1month's free movies and the Entertainment package if you want it (£5/month), then sit back and wait for Sky to ring in about 3 weeks. When they did they offered us 50% off our original TV & Movies package (rejected), then 75% off (accepted as we could cancel at a month's notice - Sky TV & Movies for £9/month). We then decided we actually prefered Now TV & downloading movies so 3 days later we rang Sky to cancel at which point we were offered a new HD+ box and Entertainment+ as well on a 12 month contract at 75% off (£12/month). Happy with that!:T0

Can anyone confirm the size of the hard drive in the 'free' Sky HD+ boxes? It says you can record up to 60 hours of HD programmes, but doesn't specify the gb. Thanks!0

Sky+HD box offers 300Gb of recording capacity - 160Gb for yourself & 140Gb for Sky Anytime TV. That means you can record up to 185 hours of standard TV, or 60 hours of HD TV.0
